"This place is terrible seriously look elsewhere. When we moved in, everything was dirty. There was beard hair in my sink and just bleach coated all over the shower (which ruined all my towels). We had to re-clean everything. Many things were broken, and the fridge light bulb was DUCT TAPED. The employees were extremely rude to me on the phone and I have to constantly check and make sure we are not getting double charged for things. Management “forgot to charge us” for the package service and made us pay 5 months worth of a service we didn’t even have. One of the bedrooms in our unit is up against the gym and the treadmills (at all hours) shake the entire room and are very loud. I don’t even have to say anything about the security and the dirty halls, there are plenty of other other reviews on that. The amenities are nothing like portrayed on the website. The gym is not at all functional and smells like mold. Most of the pool chairs are broken and have not been replaced the entire 10 months we’ve lived here. We wanted to resign our lease, but apparently our rent is going UP? Don’t know how they get away with that. Please do not sign a lease here."
"Our experience with the security and management of Lumi has been far from satisfactory. The supposed security measures, including the garage gate and door/key fobs, are essentially useless. It's alarming that any door within the entire building can be opened without restriction, raising serious concerns about safety. Maintenance and cleanliness seem to be low priorities. The halls receive minimal cleaning attention, perhaps once a month, and the gym is consistently dirty. Equipment theft is an ongoing issue, and the lack of replacement only exacerbates the problem. The pool area isn't much better, with over half of the chairs broken since our move-in date, yet no effort has been made to replace them. Communicating with management has proven to be a frustrating experience. They are difficult to reach, and when interactions occur, their demeanor is often rude. This lack of responsiveness and professionalism only adds to the overall disappointment. In summary, the neglect of security, maintenance, and basic amenities, coupled with the challenging interactions with management, have made our time here less than enjoyable. We hope to see substantial improvements in the near future."
"This place has been rented for 8 months. The place is not suitable for human habitation. There are no working elevators and no attention to cleanliness. The janitor comes one day to take the trash, and the next day he doesn't come. The elevators are always out of order and not working. The corridors are not clean. All the doors inside are open and there is no security or the security system is not working. How long will we stay like this? The services are fully paid and there are no fees for them as long as we continue with this problem. I'd rather file a case in court, claim it and move on. I have been deprived of my rights under our contract. I ask all residents to file the case against them in court and prepare for it. They do not provide the full service and charge a fee. Money for those services that don't work"
"Lived here for 1 year. Building is disgusting and barely up-kept at all. My entire lease 3/4 of the elevators were broken. None of the locked gates work, nor does the parking garage gate 80% of the time. The office staff are all useless. Work orders take forever unless you pester them. The halls will often have dog feces, trash, and a couple times even blood in them. The trash rooms are locked a lot of the time so trash piles up in the parking garage every single day. Best of all is when I moved out, I got a charge for damages, so I called the office saying I wouldn’t pay without a receipt (I left the place spotless). Over the course of the next month I called 4 times trying to get the receipt but they never sent it. Finally they told me somehow there was a mistake, there was no charge for damages. I clarified and made sure they sent me an email saying that (they did). They also told me I would actually get $283 back from my deposit. THEN I started getting calls from a COLLECTIONS agency about the damages I owed. I literally had to prove to a COLLECTIONS agency that they were wrong (why don’t you try doing that?). After I got collections and Lumi on the phone together, Lumi told me somehow it was just “how the system works” they mistakenly sent me to collections, risking my credit. I now have been moved out for over 2 months, and have not gotten my refund on my deposit yet. To be honest, I will probably never see that $283 again. Do not live here unless you are ready for your life to be a huge headache every day, even after you move out."
"Bleecker/Lumi Hyde Park has been far below my expectations. The reviews that explain the residents experience negatively are true. I moved here in February and nothing I have complained about to management has changed. There is trash, broken door handles, doors, and fire alarms pulled almost every weekend. There is a significant population of college students here and as they are working to eliminate students the problems around trash, damage, and property management are bigger than changing the resident demographic. Because any demographic will expect a clean safe place to live. I have had generally good interactions with the staff BUT they will tell you what you want to hear and not be honest. They have been promising upgrades for 8 months! I toured here in December and when I hear a tour being given it’s the same prompt of upgrades and delays because of permits. I don’t believe it and even so they could clean the hallways, eliminate trash and spills of lord knows what, and fix simple things. Honestly, the staff here is VERY lean for this size of a property. 3 ppl in office and I’ve seen 2 maintenance workers. There is no WiFi in common areas and the lights are always flickering in the workout room that is tore up. You are also billed for sewer, water is spilt for the community — not just your usage, and there are miscellaneous billing fees. So whatever you’re quoted for rent add $150 on top of that. I would not encourage anyone to move here expecting quality bc of the price. You will not get it, literally go to the parking garage, elevators, and in the halls as you tour, you’ll see all residents are complaining about. I hope to see a change soon!"
