"The first year was great. Then the property was bought out by the current owners. When it was time to sign a new lease under the new owners, my rent was increased by $300. $75 of the 300 is to pay for a mandatory "tenants benefits package" which forces me to use their contracted 3rd party insurance and HVAC air filters, amongst other things. Ask to see a contract and you'll see what I mean. This package is mostly unnecessary for myself and girl friend. We pay for our own filters and renters insurance, which is substantially cheaper than what they're charging. This added charge over the next year takes money away from our ability to move somewhere else in the future. I feel massively taken advantage of. With current inflation as well, the overall cost of living in Tampa definitely doesn't help. I understand prices go up on leases, but I've never been hit with such a massive increase plus a mandatory "benefits" package. Its a 1 bdr 600sqtft unit. Its not worth what they're asking. With all being said, the only redeemable qualities are the location, responsiveness of maintenance, and a direct contact with the lease signer Joshua."
