The Grove Apartments 13944 Sandy Hill Loop, Tampa, FL 33613

"I have lived at The Grove Apartments for approximately 1 month now. I can tell you from my experience living here is nothing but great and very peaceful. I have never had a bug problem at all. There's a lot bad ratings for this property. And personally I really don't know why. I've had 2 maintenance requests and they were completely handled in a timely manner. The maintenance supervisor handled my maintenance request in a professional manner. I truly feel that the property manager is doing a great job managing The Grove Apartments. I know. With my experience with the Property manager has been handled in a very professional manner as well. She has a huge responsibility management for multi apartment complex is not easy I'm sure. Of it. I feel the maintenance team is freindly and works hard. I'm happy with my apt I love all the closet space I love the flooring I love the cleanness of the apt when I moved in. I do recommend to live here another Grove Apartments!! The community is very quiet the neighbors do there part keeping the noise to a minimum acourse sometimes there might be a loud voice from outside. But that's anywhere. I'm 100% happy here and I feel I made a good decision moving here."

"I lived at the grove for 2 years in a 1 bedroom. The apartment was a decent size for me by myself but would be tight for 2 or more. When I moved in the front door was not cleaned and covered in dirt and bugs. The door also had a gap letting in bugs. They came out to fix it and the gap was lessened but still present. They had clearly painted and "repaired" fast for my move in as paint splatter was visible on the floors and undersides of cabinets. There was also a small hole in the bathroom cabinets, and a few in the ceiling. The light switch in my bedroom went to the ceiling even though there was no light or fan. Maintenance came out to verify and when I asked if it could be re re routed to an outlet or if I could get a light fixture in the ceiling I was advised that neither was possible and told to put in my own light fixture even though the lease advised that you cannot touch the electrical so I had a useless light switch my entire time there. The appliances worked well but were outdated. The dishwasher was yellowed upon arrival and the original manager advised she'd replace it but she left and it never got replaced. It had issues draining and maintenance came to fix it but whatever they did never fully fixed it. The walls were patched after the last occupant left and not well. There was a visible bolt under the paint. The wood on the balcony did not look well and the wood railings for the stairs rotted away and never got fixed. I placed a repair order that they just closed right away. When asked they stated corporate had to fix it but no one ever came. There are no washers and dryers in most of the apartments and the laundry rooms provided break often. The vinyl flooring was put in poorly so it was uneven. My furniture on one wall would tilt with it. The closet space was the best thing about the apartment. Plenty of places for storage. The area I was in was mostly quiet and rarely had issues with neighbors. It is close to multiple grocery stores and food options as well. They will charge a cleaning fee regardless of how you left the apartment and advised its charged to everyone no matter what. They take it from your deposit rather than have you pre pay it at move in or on the last month's rent. Rather than let the giant corporation who runs their company pay for cleaning they pass that off to their tenants like they don't get enough money from the over priced rent as it is. For the money these apartments are not worth it. It suited what I needed at the time and I had no major issues so they get a 3 star rating. I would not choose them again unless they fix these apartments up better and get washers and dryers without charging an insane rent for that neighborhood."

"All of the people who are saying bad things about these apartments are 100% correct! the laundry is never working, the staff is rude and anytime i run into an issue the lady in the office locks the door and ignores any issues that someone may have. very poor management! maintenance guys do not know what they are doing and have no clue how to fix anything, also, very passive, aggressive and rude. roaches are everywhere and the mold/dust is so bad i’m constantly cleaning and doing everything that i can to keep the bug infestation down but it never really helps. the gym is small and i believe is supposed to be 24 hours but every time i go later (11 pm) it’s closed but the pool is not?? anytime you put in a maintenance request it takes them days to come out or not at all. never truly fixes the issues inside the apartment. i’ve had a broken dishwasher for 2 years and had never been replaced. The ac stops working in the summer and it makes the atmosphere feel wet and humid. THE PERFECT PLACE FOR ROACHES!! police come out every so often to the apartments. cars get broken into and towed constantly even if you’re living here. some how random people who do not live here can sleep in their cars and take parking spaces. these apartments have so much potential to be better yet the management fails every time, these apartments were much better years ago as you’ll see in some other reviews. regardless of complaints nothing is done about it. fire the staff in charge they do not care about anything but hosting little party’s every so often in the middle with the lights."

"I lived here for a year. The office staff is nice, but I cannot stress enough how INFESTED this place is with German cockroaches. See photos. (The glue traps were reset about every 2-3 days) I am a very clean person for reference & I had to call the office many times during my stay to deep-critter clean the apartment. (Which the office did at no cost to me, but it was not effective each time). For the remaining 8 months of my lease term, I could not keep ANYTHING in the pantry, cabinets, or drawers. I had to store all of my things in large air tight bins in the living room :/ there were roaches everytime you opened a drawer, or turned the lights on at night. For the price of rent, I was very disappointed."

"Units are all painted over, hiding mold. Mine and a few neighbors' health and allergies were terrible from these apartments. Everything is built/done poorly - my cabinets were installed backwards... Most of the light switches were not connected to anything - there was no light in the bedroom or living room. Safety and location is less than ideal. Many incidents involving police. A handful of cars broken into at night. Amenities: the laundry is never working properly. the pool is okay. the gym is 2/10. Staff is not very nice and doesn't really care."
