Reviews of The Addison
"Did a tour today around 11am. Leasing agent was very shady and rude. She stereotyped against me I can tell. By the way she answered My question. I felt very uncomfortable throughout the tour. Before touring I asked if she needed my ID she said no that was a red flag right there by you not following proper procedure also being that I viewed this property online I knew for a fact y’all had more than the two 2 bedroom floor plan that she claimed you only offered one Thank you for the experience. To add the floor plan was OK but you all should probably better train your leasing consultant to be a little more with a less bias opinion NOT EVERYONE ARE CROOKS BUT IF YOU FOLLOW PROPER PROCEDURES,, YOU’LL BE ABLE TO PINPOINT. WHAT IS WHAT cheaters never win they always lose like your self (P.S you should also understand terms used as a professional, Leasing agent. The associate. Did not even know what. A solarium. Was. What puts the icing on the cake was when she said you have to show 3.5 times base rent which I have never from any leasing company"
"If you are reading the reviews while considering the Addison Apartments, allow me to save you the time... *** DO NOT MOVE IN HERE.**** The ONLY thing positive I can say about my experience living here is the now former leasing manager Christina. She knew her job and cared about residents. She was pleasant and courteous as well as professional. Her loss is a huge blow to resident relations. I have lived in this 'community' since June 1st of '22 and I have regretted it since. The building I live in is at the rear of the complex and I refer to it as the black hole. The building has been pressure washed ONE time since I moved in. It is constantly littered with trash from the raccoons that get into the trash of tenants that do not follow the instructions on the valet trash schedule. The valet trash company is terrible. They come at random times rather than a set schedule. They leave streams of trash liquid along the walk ways, which are already FILTHY. I have encountered their staff on numerous occasions and they are less than professional in the way they represent their company. I get that hauling trash isn't a glamorous gig, but it is what the job requires. I have safety concerns for my child and family that has come to visit and there are homeless people living in the tree line that separates Addison from Kohl's. I have addressed the issue with management of all of the companies that have been over this property since my arrival, and NADA. I can not even allow my child to ride his bike in the complex because there is no way to secure the property and avoid people driving irresponsibly. At times the lackadaisical attitude towards control of the property and tenants has been on full display by the overwhelming and constant presence of the smell of Marijuana. I frankly couldn't care less what people do within the confines of their own home, however, when that begins to carryover into public spaces and my child has to pass through these areas, I now have an issue with it. About a year ago some blood showed up on the floor and the wall of my bldg. the floor was cleaned, last I checked, the blood stain was still on the wall. The elevator in my building is broken more frequently than it works. I spoke with a repairman that was out a bit over a year ago and he told me that the elevators were wired in the cheapest way possible, being 2 phase. WHEN the elevators do work, they are insufferably slow. This is an issue for me as I am a disabled veteran and I wanted the higher floor for the amazing conservation view I have and specifically chose the Addison because they have elevators. I had a knee replacement a year ago and climbing stairs with this frequency is very painful. Moreover, My parents are unable to come visit as they are not able to climb stairs. Maintenance is slow or non-existent until you call the corporate office, and then they arrive quickly to put "grease on the squeaky wheel." It took more than a year to get my refrigerator replaced due to the fact that the freezer was leaking water into the refrigerator. The 1st three tickets I submitted to have the issue resolved, I was blamed for the issue, being told I had too many things in the freezer and it was blocking vents. I found out, when a competent maintenance floater came to assist, that there was water trapped between the compartments and it would thaw out and drain into the fridge. The subsequent replacement took almost 3 weeks as the staff had to wait for the elevator to be fixed to get the fridge to the 3rd floor. and it took 2 additional months, and another floating repairman to get the icemaker in the new fridge to make ice. Parking is terrible, Handicapped spaces are not policed or enforced, large commercial vehicles (semi tractors) are allowed to park on site . I have to run my air conditioner at 67 degrees just to keep the rooms below 78 degrees. I have complained about this both through work-orders and verbally to maintenance and management alike...And nothing has been done!"
"Received a call before moving in and was informed that the AC froze over and would be repaired soon. After being informed that the AC problem was "fixed", I arrived and the AC was not running, there was no filter, and water filled around the bottom. Additionally, the AC was not fixed and did not work properly. My smoke detector was also dangling from the bedroom ceiling- I really hope proper inspections are being conducted. I'm concerned about what other things may have been ignored or overlooked now. After getting no sleep in an 80 degree apartment, I called the "emergency maintenance" number three times the following morning, per the instructions I was provided in a folder by office staff. I was told to give maintenance about an hour after my first call around 8:30AM. The maintenance employee, also the same individual who supposedly fixed the AC on August 26th, finally arrived around 11 AM and said the coils were really filthy and there were problems with the unit after he inspected it. Thankfully, I have witnesses regarding this conversation and information I was provided. It's also concerning that maintenance failed to recognize all these problems the previous day when they were "fixing" it. Offering to install a portable AC unit in a bedroom window is not acceptable for a situation involving safety, proper living conditions, and a duty of good faith."
"I won’t say much, $2500 for a 2 bedroom but i live with 102 roommates, my and my girlfriend plus the 100 Roaches. I literally am the cleanest person in the world and nothing i do will keep these roaches out, maintenance doesn’t fix anything, and the lights Flicker every single day in my bathroom and living room. I’ve changed the bulbs multiple times. I will definitely be moving when lease is up only been here for 6 months."
"This place is not worth how much we pay to live here. If you like clean environment, peace of mind and value for your money then this place isn’t for you… I live here and this place has lost it touch. It’s has become like a cheap subsidized place , very dirty environment.. Maintenance is always an issue… well they say pictures speak a thousand words. This is the Addison apartment that we pay high rent to live.. Dirty elevators and stairways, broken closet shelf for over a month, broken dish washer for over a month creating unhygienic conditions in the apartment leaking refrigerator since march, flickering lights, expired elevator license putting residents lives at risk and in danger. This place is in a deplorable condition and it’s not cheap. Spare yourself the headache and don’t come here.. people dump food anywhere they like as if they don’t have trash cans in their apartments.."
