"My 15 months of residence were really the best! I always felt safe, it's a quiet, clean, tidy place, and when you ask for maintenance they solve quickly. Unfortunately I have to leave because the money is no longer enough for me, but if it were up to me I would still live here. It is really difficult for me to say goodbye to this place because I really felt at home, especially because of the treatment of the leasing office and especially of Eleonora, she was always aware of giving the best service and with the best possible attitude. That girl really makes a difference in Society Westshore. For my part, this is not a goodbye, but a see you later that I hope it will be soon. Thank you Society!"
"In my pursuit of finding a place to finding an apartment in Tampa, I came across Society Westshore. I was particularly interested in this property due to the location, and it does not disappoint! The staff is extremely helpful. I met the new manager, and he seems to really care. The leasing agents are so helpful, specifically Camille and Elle. They are willing to help, and have answered any questions that I have. The assistant manager, Whitney was very considerate when I voiced a couple of concerns. All in all, a great place to call home!"
"Nightmare Living: Unprepared Apartments and Incompetent Management. My experience at Society Westshore has been nothing short of a living nightmare since the day I moved in back in August. From the very start, it was evident that the management's promises were nothing more than empty words, and the state of my apartment was a testament to their utter lack of professionalism. Upon receiving my keys, I walked into an apartment that was far from move-in ready. Maintenance was still in the process of painting. I told them that I would be in and out moving small items but that I wouldn't move any furnitures for 2-3 days. Still was not done. The walls in the bathroom does not match. AC filter was missing and I had to go to leasing office to get one (not the right size because they were out). The fridge was non-functional for 2 weeks, a couple of light bulbs needed replacing, and the tub required caulking, floor has damages. The pet dander, promised to be eliminated with a deep cleaning, still clung to every corner. Some photos provided. It became painfully clear that the management's commitment to providing a clean and habitable living space was nothing but lip service. The issues extended beyond my unit. The garage door was broken even before I moved in, and despite being reported multiple times, no action was taken to address the problem. The hallways are a disgrace – dirty, smelly, and in desperate need of a thorough steam cleaning. The overall lack of maintenance and cleanliness reflected the sheer neglect of the management. The chaos escalated when the management changed hands, introducing a new set of problems. We were abruptly asked to pay rent with checks because their online payment system was allegedly malfunctioning. This change was not only inconvenient but a blatant display of incompetence. A couple of months ago, my girlfriend (who lives in another unit) and I paid with a check as instructed which was placed under the door 2 days before the due date because I had to go out of town, only to be slapped with a $200 charge each, claiming they never received our payment and that the cleaners may have thrown it away. This unjust fee was compounded by other residents who found themselves facing late fees due to the management's inability to handle automatic payments. Just when I thought it couldn't get worse, I received an email today, January 3, 2023 at 12:56 pm, stating "We are having technical difficulties with online auto-pay this month. If you are set up in auto-pay, please log in to your account to see if the rent was paid. If not, please make a one-time payment online today as this is your last day to pay before rent is considered late. We apologize for the inconvenience, and we hope the technical issue is resolved by IT soon.” This is informing us that we should check our accounts to confirm if rent was paid and, if not, make a one-time payment online before the day's end to avoid late fees. This last-minute notification is not only unprofessional but indicative of a consistent pattern of incompetence in managing the most basic aspects of the apartment complex. In conclusion, Society Westshore has proven to be a disastrous living experience. The unprepared apartments, broken promises, and incompetent management have created an environment that is far from the comfortable and hassle-free living that residents should expect. Steer clear of this place unless you enjoy constant frustration and disappointment. Other residents reading this and want to connect... just reach out :)"
"My wife and I having been living at Society Westshore since 2020. To be completely objective, we’ve been on a roller coaster with this property. Currently, it’s under new management and to be fair, they’re making efforts to improving the property. I’m taking the time to write this review to express my appreciation for their efforts to improve the property and I wanted to call out a few members that have gone above and beyond to provide great service. I’ll start with the ladies at the office. Camille, Eleonora, Cheryl, and the main manager Meghan (apologies if I’m misspelling your names). All who have been professional and courteous when I came to them with my concerns. The new maintenance guys are great group who are prompt with work orders and are mindful to be neat while they work in your home. All of them are led by their great supervisor Jose who is friendly, diligent and makes sure the maintenance issues are addressed correctly. Lastly, I cannot forget the hard-working ladies that make sure the property is clean. I look forward to the upcoming improvements and changes. Thank you all for your efforts. -Chris"
"You should live at Society Westshore…if you like dog poop. Because it’s everywhere. Inside and out. Tenants don’t pick up after their pets - it’s disgusting. “Secure” entry doors are usually broken so anyone can just walk right in at any time. Over the holidays last year, some rocket scientist pulled the gym bathroom urinal off the wall, flooding our hallway and apartment. A week of free rent? An apology? No, just a week with industrial fans all over the place. And then there’s the fire alarms. Because the place is filled with pot smoking 18 year olds, about once a month you should expect the fire alarm to be pulled at 2am. The alarms are so obnoxiously loud I’ve had tinnitus since the first one - has to be 170 decibels. After we moved out they charged us $40 to replace four light bulbs. If I could give it zero stars I would. My advice would be to avoid this complex entirely. Varela is one block away and provides infinitely better accommodations. Good luck."
