"SOHO square is one of the nicest, cleanest properties I've been in. The center courtyard is beautiful, and the pool looks more like a fountain than a pool. The location is easy to get to, and it's very close to downtown Tampa. The staff is on point and very attentive. It is because of their attention to detail that makes this place so pleasing."
"I’m heading into my second year here at MAA Soho Square and I truly have been happy living here. The front office staff along with the maintenance crew are always quick to respond to any issue that arises. Keith has a golden soul is quick to handle issues that arise. I dealt with some flooring issues in my first unit and I was taken care of by the staff rather well as they put themselves in my shoes and they quickly accommodated me and fixed the issue at hand. The front office staff deals with a lot of strong personalities, so I give them credit. Living in South Tampa, there is a lot of entitlement that floats around and unfortunately some ends up living here; however, for the most part the majority of residents are awesome. There are many great people here who we’re lucky to call friends. I think Stephanie, Lance, and Aaron are adapting quickly and learning the ins and out of the building rather well. They have always treated me with respect, worked with me, and been helpful when problems have arisen, all while following MAA rules. The units alone are great, I’ve lived in both a one bedroom (alone) and two bedroom (with another person) here and have found the size of the units to be perfect. Some of the features and amenities that I love: the pool during the summer, a great way to meet your neighbors, it’s well-kept and has enough space to lounge. The dog park is a social hour on its own, for both you and your pup. There are charcoal along with electric grills, which I think is great, especially if you’re into meal prepping. I also love that parking is secure and you have an assigned spot. The location probably takes the cake as it is literally steps from Winn-Dixie, multiple restaurants, bars, Hyde Park village, and Bayshore Boulevard. It has a small town feel, yet is in the heart of it all being on the corner of Howard and Swann. Safety is a big priority for me and the building is literally Fort Knox if you get locked out, so it’s nice to know not just anyone is entering. (despite the door on the third floor being eternally stuck/broken, which is a huge headache) With anywhere you live, there are things you wish you could change and I think it’s important to share those as well. I wish the hallways, back elevator, and gym were kept clean. Sometimes, people let their dogs express themselves in the hallways and don’t always pick it up, which is extremely annoying and although the responsibility of the tenant, sometimes it goes unnoticed for far too long. The back elevator constantly has dog urine in it, is filthy from who knows what, and smells. The hallways, besides the dog urine, are filthy and the fans have literal inches of dust flying off of them. I have noticed they have been doing better about this, but with the rent price as high as it is, there should be a daily cleaning crew here keeping the back elevator and hallways spick and span. There is a homeless man who often sleeps in the exterior parking garage stairwell that is connected to the dog park, giving him access to every floor of cars, which I don’t love and nothing can be done because putting a lock on the door would be considered a fire hazard. That definitely scared me as I would walk my dog late at night. I wish they would invest less in the landscaping in the pool area and more in security and cleanliness. The only other thing is there are a few tenants in the building that are off their rockers, belligerent alcoholics, and need to be evicted. There’s really nothing the staff can do about it, but it does cause stress among the other residents who mind their business. Like I said, there are issues anywhere you live and despite the things I wish I could change, I have enjoyed living here."
"This building is really nice. Love the location because of the walk- ability to various activities. Hyde Park is just down the street. Bayshore blvd several blocks away. Its just a nice neighborhood."
"Great place to live! The grounds are clean and well kept. The building is in excellent repair. The staff are attentive, professional, courteous and helpful. Location is fantastic, plenty of culture and nightlife close by but never had any problems with noise. I highly recommend these apartments!!"
"In a great location with everything in walking distance, neighbors were great also. The pool/courtyard area is very relaxing. Things I didn't like are I had way more maintenance issues then I've had living anywhere else. maintenance staff is really fast and good, but I didn't like having something break once a month, a lot of AC issues and other things. Maintenance had to drill out my smart lock when even they couldn't open it with their code, and they couldn't replace it with another smart lock. Was told it's on back order for months and wasn't replaced when I left. Did not agree with all the charges on my move out. They have had a lot of staff changes recently, the guy who was really good, Kyle, left for another MAA property. And they gave away my parking spot to another resident a few days before my move out without telling me beforehand, which was annoying when I went back to get a few more things before my lease was up and couldn't park in my spot."
