"My experience at The Wayland in St Petersburg was superb. I love the area in Downtown St Pete & The Wayland is in the perfect spot, overlooking Tropicana Field, the pool, & Downtown St Petersburg. It was easy to make an appointment online & Katya gave me a tour of the building & all of the amenities. First, I love to work out; the gym was perfect with treadmills, stair climbers, weight machines, free weights, a yoga room & bathrooms. Katya then showed me the kitchen & the lounge with many TVs, shuffle board & a pool table! The courtyard was fantastic, with grills for a cookout, lounge areas, hammocks, a gas bonfire, and a large pool with plenty of space. If you work from home or want a place to study, the business room has many options & is open 24 hours every day. We discussed the apartment options; the first one Katya showed me with a pool view and the location was perfect. I cannot wait to move in. Katya is a knowledgeable professional & listened to all of my needs for a move. I would highly recommend Wayland; the location & the building are fantastic. I can’t wait for my move! "This was the worst experience. The staff was rude and didn’t care to solve any issues. My apartment and the hallways were mold infested ices with the ac unit never working. Constant fire alarms due to flooding. Hallways not lit. We got stuck in the elevator twice ! DO BIT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE! This place is unsafe and just not worth the hassle."

"Washing machines are shared and are very dirty and full of animal hair, I think that a person can easily get a disease from using washing machines. I got a scabies while using laundry machines. Another thing is the garbage that stinks in the whole building on every floor and that is not taken away on time, all of this is especially true for the back part of the building that looks towards the stadium. Recommendation: Do not rent this apartments."

"Roaches, mold and more....... Staff extremely helpful. Not my crowd generally. I'm a senior but I had good time for 8 months. I thing that roaches made me lived."

"I would like to come on here and express my traumatic and awful experience I have had at the Wayland the last two years I have been living here. 1. Never in my life have I had to deal with so many (fire alarm testing) even adding up all the years in grade school we had to endure them!! At 8 am are you serious and for and for over two hours. 2. Water shuts off constantly!! 3. The first year and half I have had multiple men just come knocking on my door saying they need to check stuff. I never asked for them to come and there has been no problems they come in saying they need to check stuff walk around then don’t even look at anything!! 4. I have a brand new remodel unit. They didn’t consider changing the AC unit that was probably here when this place was a (hospital) I had literally flames being shot out at me when I would turn the heat on. As well as the AC did not work it was soo hot in here we had to use plug in fans. Now we have a new unit!! 5. I have had all my cloths I had just gotten for Christmas stolen and guess what cameras not working at the time!! 6. When they changed all the bikes to outside someone decided to lock my bike with there’s so I couldn’t move it. I told staff then they didn’t do anything about it. Then Staff moved all bikes that were left to another room but took off the custom bike plate he gave me for my first Christmas after adopting me. He is no longer with us!!! 7. My Fiancés bike stolen as well. 8. The fact they can talk through a speaker in all out our rooms!!! 9. The door to the to the bottom of the back stairs by the Tropicana side in the garage has slammed on my hand and my ankles so fast!! And they are extremely heavy. I’ve told the front desk it’s so dangerous not even a Second before that door slams I could’ve got my fingers chopped!! 10. Why do I pay all this money for a secure building when every week some lock is broken and some gate can just open to anyone! 11. Being towed multiple times when I PAY TO PARK IN THE GERAGE!! And have a parking sticker. 12. Internet plug in is above my front door so every time I open my door it pulls on the cord!! Not normal!! 13. I have had multiple friends that have lived here and they all said they moved bc of these issues and they were sick all the time they ended up doing test and finding mold and multiple problems!! I’m not sure how much they followed through after they moved on the issue!! 14 I have recently found mold in the only vent in the about 400 sq ft studio I live in!! 15. I pay about 200 for my electric bill in my 400 ft studio apartment! There are full 5 bedroom homes where the electric bill isn’t even that high!! Within St Pete 15. Amazing front door staff but awful leasing and management staff they choose and pick when they wanna act accordingly!! 16 speaking for everyone else in the building pest and bugs are always a problem! 17. Wayland members do not pick up after their dogs well at all is it’s quite disturbing when I’m smelling pee and poop every time I go into the elevator! 18. You are paying an excessive amount of money for laundry machines that aren’t in your room and that barely work they do not get cleaned at all and my laundry never gets fully washed. These are just few problems and a whole lot more on the Wayland Facebook group!!! I’m sorry but one girl even said these are the worst two years she has had and I could not agree more!!"
