Gulf Highlands Condo Rentals

"Do not stay here. The unit we rented, 121 Cindy, was an absolute joke. Upon checkin, the front bedroom had dog poop on the carpet, the bath tub did not drain (see picture attached) as it was clogged with hair, the shower curtain had black mold (see picture), the kitchen was filthy, there were dishes and utensils that had to be washed before they could be used, the patio out back was nasty and the grill needed to be cleaned before use. We had to adjust the hot water tank to get hot water, the "balcony" was an enclosed sunroom that smelled so bad you couldn't use it, the toilet in the bathroom off the master bath didn't flush properly and after lifting the lid we found a lot of black mold and the chain was all tangled. Thank God the stand up shower worked but it was a hardship for 4 adults to take turns using it. There was a pool across the street but it had floating and was dirty. The couch in the living room with the pull out bed was so cheap it was so hard you couldn't sit on it. The batteries to the remotes for the 3 televisions were dead and we had to buy batteries and light bulbs for the front and back porches. The beds upstairs had lumpy mattresses and I am sure all the furniture was used. The ad for this unit said it was recently "renovated with NEW furniture and amenities" which is an obvious lie. There were supposed to be 2 king beds. But there were 2 queen beds. The appliances in the kitchen were old. The laundry room was decent and the machines worked good. The only good thing I can say is that the air conditioning worked. But if you look at the picture you can see the vent was nasty with lint and mold. We contacted the owner and he laughed and refused to refund our money (we paid for 2 weeks in advance) so we were unable to seek better accommodations. As a last item, the unit is listed for sale for $350,000. The condition of this unit isn't worth $35,000. Please save your money and go elsewhere. This place stinks!"

"Drove 14 hours only to not get in at check-in. They didn't have any problems withdrawing the rental fees!!!!! WILL NOT BE BACK!!!!! Low end town homes at high end prices."

"From the online booking to checkout this was a great experience. We got to our house in Panama City Beach and it was everything we needed or wanted. Very clean, everything worked like it was supposed to, and we even spoke with one of the vacasa employees upon arrival and she was very informative. Gulf Highlands is a nice gated community and a wonderful place to stay. About a 10 min walk to the beach or a 2 min drive."

"DO NOT STAY HERE!!! WARNING! MUST READ!!!! Or at least not in 141 on west Leslie lane! We booked thru Vrbo and what a mistake that was! We are currently here on vacation but our check in was yesterday May 24th at 4! At 2 pm we were called saying that we would not have ac and would not have ac until Tuesday May 25th, our wedding anniversary (mind you is why we are on vacation, with COVID and work we were happy to finally be able to take off our mask and enjoy the sun because the week before where we live flooded!) We go round and round with the management to pretty much be bribed with $100 gift card and laughed at because they would not refund our money at all. We had been traveling since 7am with two teenagers and a dog! We get to the condo, AFTER 4 cause if you check in a minute earlier you Will be charged $300, only to walk in with 89 degree heat hit us in our face, the condo smelled like shrimp and dog pee, the floors were so dirty it turned our towel black from where we wiped up our dogs slobber. We ended up having to scramble and find a hotel that would take us and a dog. Didn’t get to come back until 11am Tuesday still with no ac but it is being put in. They finished at 1pm we still had to go get groceries and never been here before so it took us a bit to get to where all we had to go, while leaving the teenagers with the dog so he could cool down! Got to the beach at 4 pm to let the kids get some time in the water. We are back at 6pm to clean this place and get ready to find somewhere to eat for our anniversary. We have all day tomorrow and check out at 10 Thursday! Not worth $800 for condo plus all the extra fees for having to stay at a hotel and took time away that can’t be replaced! Only to be laughed at and given $100 in gift cards. That was at first only given $50 and I lost my mind and got the other $50 put on the counter while we were at a hotel! No amount of money can give us back our time and didn’t care about the gift cards until we were laughed at and lied to! The dang cards probably aren’t even activated lol! Won’t be back ever! Sorry for a long rant but everyone needs to know how this RealJoy vacation with Vrbo really is! $800 for one and half days when we paid for four days! Hope your stay is better!"

"We rented one of the condos in Gulf Highlands through Verbo and we are very pleased. It is clean, neat, and very comfortable. It has a small back patio, a balcony off the king bedroom, a bath and a half. Plenty of room for our small family. We really enjoyed our stay here this week."
