"We were going to try the Adkins practice because we had heard good things. However, we took our daughter in to see about her cavity. They told us that for cavities, they take the kids in the back with no parents in the room because "it's easier for the kids." I explained that she has sensory issues and had preferred me to be in the room with her. Their compromise was that I could stand outside the door, not speak to her, and not let her know I was there, all to "keep her from getting too nervous." Needless to say, I found this completely unacceptable and did not move forward with their care."
