"I have been supporting this thrift store and the estate sales they hold for years. I have spent thousands of dollars, mostly at the estate sales. Today, I was berated by, who I believe to be the owner, at their estate sale. We pulled a tag for a piece of furniture we wanted to buy. Went back and forth about if we could fit it in our SUV. Eventually decided to buy it regardless and rent a truck to come back if need be. When we were told we had to be there the next day by 2, we realized we likely could not be there on time due to a conflict in our schedule. We thought we had until later in the day as the estate sale was still running the next day. Not their fault, we just didn't know and thought we had more time because we had come back and picked up in the past. We put the tag back on the furniture and were still trying to figure out if we could make it work by asking a friend or family member to pick up for us. I heard people discussing that the piece was sold and I let them know it was not yet. We didn't want to stop another from purchasing it if we could not figure out a way to pick it up on time. Keep in mind we had hundreds of dollars worth of other furniture tags and also various other items in the hold area that we could fit in our vehicle and were purchasing to take that day. This man then begins to berate me in front of volunteers and other customers about how he could have had the item sold, that I broke the rules, that this is for a children's charity and on and on. I tried to explain the situation. Tried to explain the misunderstanding and that we still wanted it if we could work it out. He just continued to speak over me waving his arms about. I was mortified. We had every intention of purchasing when we took the tag, and STILL wanted it and were actively trying to find a way to make it work logistically. After being yelled at and embarrassed by this man, I walked out. I will never return to their estate sales or their thrift shop. There are plenty of other charities I can and do support and will continue to. This was a $50 item. He lost hundreds of dollars that day for the children's charity and much more future money because he chose to shame me instead of listen. Thank you to the volunteers there who are always and have always been helpful and who give their time. I just will not return to a place that is run by a man who was so awful and unkind to me. It was truly upsetting the way he spoke to me as if I don't care about the children the charity supports. My heart fell to my stomach. You sir, did not act in a charitable way when you spoke to me the way you did. I hesitated very much over posting this because this is a charitable organization that does good work. However, the owner needs to know this behavior is not ok. Had you listened and communicated with me instead of lecturing and speaking down to a grown woman in front of a group of men, this situation would have turned out very differently."
"This place is AWESOME. I can easily spend a few hundred bucks. They have gorgeous things."
"Thank you for organizing by size! I have stopped shopping at stores that only do by color as it's a waste of time. They don't have a dressing room, but at least have a mirror that you can try on things in front of. Staff very friendly and prices great."
"Great deals half off everything everyday customer friendly"
"This is the best thrift center I’ve ever been to in my life. The prices are amazing and extremely helpful for struggling families on a budget. Thank you, AngelAid, y’all really are angels! The cashiers (I’m pretty sure they’re volunteers) are always so pleasant and treat you like family. Thanks again."
