"Spoke with her for consultation and never heard from her again. Don't waste your money here. Documents that were to be filed were filed incorrectly and not included. Csse lingered for months. I was always consistent with whatever was required on my end. Definitely would not recommend or utilize again. Took my money but did pretty much nothing for me. Calld were never returned upon request to speak with her. Till this very day our only interaction was the day of my consultation. Very disappointed in how things turned out. Had to call and ask for a statement that I hadn't recieved in months and then never applied payment that I had made. All around very unprofessional practice. I could go on but trust the negative reviews are very factual. Sadly I had much respect for Mrs. Jody as I felt she was a very knowledged attorney only to have been given false hopes and much disappointment. Definitely couldn't recommend to anyone else."

"I have been trying to finalize my account to receive a final bill and hopefully a refund since August 2023. To date this simple action has not been accomplished."

"Upon hiring Jody her retainer was 5k. I transferred from another lawyer who couldn’t practice anymore because she was out of the county. So half/majority of the work was already done. Jody was nice enough to allow me to break down the payments into two. The day before trial at 11am while i was in class (nursing school) I received an email from someone in her office I’d never heard of demanding 5k by end of day or we would not be proceeding to trial. This was the first I heard of this invoice and the first I heard of this person. I was thoroughly confused so I called the office - Jody emailed me back and simply stated “I’m sorry, but this is where we’re at” I asked why I was last minute like this and I’d never heard I had a balance Her associates stated “Jody is only one person” I paid the 5k with 3 months worth of my student loans. We went to trial. The judge decided not to look to any paperwork we had, including police records of the opposing counsel, video recordings, tape recordings, witnesses, texts, etc. the judge decided our kid should be with his dad and his dads grandmother since the dad can’t be there everytime the child is out of school, due to work. I’ve altered my schedule so I’d be available when my child was out of school/daycare for 4 years now. Jody did not present any documents to the judge, and told me to be careful what I’d say or I’d upset the judge. I was told the judge would not see anything or listen to anyone because he did not want to “muddy the waters” When I asked what we could do Jody said “we can take this to full trial which would be another 5k” I assumed we were at trial. But seeing as how this only lasted 2.5 hours and didn’t include any documents I had I figured I was wrong. After trial I asked Every 1-3 days what the update was as it went silent, little to no communication from anyone. 2-3 weeks later I received an invoice for over 10k from another person I’d never heard of. They told me I never paid my retainer and I owed another 5k for trial. I was able to prove I paid my retainer through copies of checks being cashed by Jody. I told Jody I was unable to pay the 5k until after I got the child support I was supposed to get. As I used 3 months of my loan income in one day on Jody’s pop up invoice the day before “trial”. Now Jody is taking me to court for this last 5k The initial lawyer I paid until mediation in my county, was 3,8k Jody would be a total of just over 15k Meaning I would’ve paid just about 20k And not a single argument was made in my behalf. If you want someone aggressive move along. If you want someone to spend money on who will collect all your papers and leave everything up to a judge who “doesn’t want to muddy the waters” without aggressively fighting for you, this is the lawyer for you."

"Jody is as unprofessional as they come. In my opinion, she operates in order to maximize her clients billings, using unnecessarily broad subpoena power to increase billable time and expenditures. She refused to call back opposing counsel or return phone calls personally. She failed to notify me of changes in the trial date and time prior to me showing up. To be clear, she did not defend or represent me. I was an innocent bystander in one of her cases but her actions were so unprofessional and egregious that the experience deserves to be shared. She wasted unbelievable resources for something an emailed document probably could have solved to put me on the witness stand for 20 seconds. I truly feel sorry for her clients. My family has a long legal history in Lake County. My uncle and brother both own law firms in the area so navigating these waters are easier for me than most. In my opinion, she pushed the boundaries of what is legally acceptable on all affronts. Stay away at all costs."
