"this is a new park in orlando so i thought id come and check it out to see if it was worth adding to my rotation of favorite parks to go to. unfortunately for me, it’s not. anyway here are all the details i think would help anyone make a decision: 1. this is a more of a family/kids park. the playground looks so fun and new and clean. has options for little and bigger kids for sure (pictures uploaded). and there’s a fence around the playground so the kids can’t wander off far. 2. there is no fence blocking the general park area from the lake though, which may be concerning if you have bigger kids that could throw a football too far or something but they’d have to really yeet it lol. there’s also a sign near the water that says potential gators but it’s florida we’re all used to that risk basically anywhere lol. anyway there’s plenty of space between the big lawn and waking path from the water so it’s not a big deal 3. the city of orlando website said there’s a walking path. i like to do long walks or runs, which is why i wanted to see if it would be a good spot for that like lake eola or lake underhill. lol no. the path goes around the park only, it’s probably somewhere between an eight to a quarter of a mile, kinda reminds me of the sidewalk at that airplane park (kittinger i think?) near the milk district, but even shorter. 4. the city of orlando website also said there are exercise stations, which i was also expecting to be kinda like the ones at lake underhill. again, no not really. there are four stations in one covered exercise area. a tai chi arm circles station, a step up station with various heights of steps, a mobility step/ramp station, and a cardio stepper station. i uploaded pictures of those too. really good for people who are way out of shape or older who need to do gentler exercises. 5. there is no parking lot. you have to park along the street in the neighborhood. there’s plenty of space, but i was just surprised 6. there are about 3 pavilions with one or two picnic tables each for the adults to hang at while the kids play. one of the pavilions has a little public grill 7. there are bicycle racks with an air pump, and tall & short water fountains. also a doggie poop bag station, so it’s a dog-friendly park as long as you clean up after them. 8. no bathrooms! if you’re bringing your kids definitely make everyone go before you leave the house lol 9. link 36 bus stop is right there, so the park is really accessible That’s about it! Again, my needs are for a long path and more advanced exercise stations, so i’ll be sticking with lake underhill. but if you’ve got a family or kiddos this is a great park to chill out and grill out while the kids have fun on the playground or the lawn.
