"Killed my biggest Florida buck there. Scored over 100. It is a tough place to hunt. You have to be tough to hunt there. Snakes, gators, bugs, heat, slimy swamp. spooky at dark. Long walk south to best places."

"Tough area to hunt. Very thick and swampy. I hunted the afternoon and had a sow come within bow range with her babies, but did not see any deer. I was very happy to find this WMA. It’s rare to find one in Florida that doesn’t require a quota permit or pre-hunt “check-in” at the station- which is extremely nice. The mosquitos were awful. Bring bug spray and snake boots if you are planning to hunt on a day that isn’t cold."

"Great camping spot (no fee), only accessible by boat from boat ramp at hwy 48 (15min), 5 dollar charge per day or ramp further up near lake Pan, decent fishing, spacious with fire pit, cooking cauldron with grate, and picnic tables, wild oranges (sour but good marinade) and tangerines, great spot with shade and landing for boat, watch for alligators (dark water) with small pets and children by river side. theres alot and watch for cotton mouths aswell, just stay aware of the critters"

"Great place, but unregulated. Needs to have FWC Game Warden present. Way too many vehicle break in's and Too much drug dealing and drug activity. Never know when you are going to walk up on a drug deal coming out of the forest after a days hunt."
