"Good area to run or bike...low area was filled with water...but could haul my bike around the brush. Pretty foliage and some downed tree limbs."
"Yeah so I got lost. The map up front wasn’t as accurate as depicted. Still serendipitous! I was running low on water and rested beneath a tree. Lo and behold I looked down and magic, as in mushrooms. Having been a connoisseur back in the day I broke the stem and blue oozing. Oh thank goodness I still had water and an empty stomach. After about an hour I was in heaven. The breeze and cloud cover that occurred was just perfect. The universe was smiling on me. I was laying in a field next to a grove of trees when some cyclists passed by. They asked if I was alright, I just pointed to the patch, smiled, and said “I’m perfect and so are you!” They didn’t seem as interested. When I got back to my rental a few hours later, my wife and kids were sick with worry. I told them I got lost and my phone died. Then I realized I was never lost. Who is actually lost in this universe?"
"Did the 3.5 mile loop off 395 ..Great trails here.Sioer hot day bring tons of fluids to drink. I will say I prefer the older pat system. I code not get the pay code to work ..I will gladly send in the $2.00 of someone from Florida Parks can contact me."
"My plan was to walk my dog on the 3 mile loop. It’s beautiful. I enjoyed the shade and the sandy trails that were clearly marked. We got about half of a mile in and had to turn around as a very, very large alligator had the trail blocked. Since I had my small dog I decided this wasn’t the trail for us."
"Point Washington State Forest, located in the panhandle of Florida, just east of Destin, provided a .uch needed dose of nature. The area is home to 10 different eco systems, which gave some interesting flora to look at as we hiked. There are three loops at the Eastern Lake Trail, varying in distance from 3 5 miles, to 6 miles, to 12 miles. They were well marked and easy to navigate. We did not see much in the way of fauna, but we also visited in December. There also was a restroom at the trail head, which was a huge plus. The forest was primarily planted pine, as the area had been timbered in the past. We really enjoyed our hike through the area!"
