"Me and my boyfriend went here because we didn’t want to drive to Shuckums in PCB and it was amazing!!!!!! We went during happy hour and got the citrus chicken quesadillas and the baked jalapeño bacon cheddar oysters and the baked garlic butter and parmesan oysters. I wish I remembered the name of both our servers but they were so helpful and so kind! Highly recommend"
"Was hesitant to come here since I thought maybe it was a tourist trap with bad food but it was NOT We LOVED the food and service. We ordered oysters which are MP, I forget to ask ahead of time how much they were and when I saw them I expected them to be 6$ each or more. They were 2 ish dollars and by far the biggest and best oysters of my life. We got a small size of the gumbo which was very good and flavourful And we shared the bayou sampler was entirely amazing, so much flavour and such fresh fish. This is not a tourist trap. Everything was so good"
"The Hurricane Oyster Bar & Grill can be hard to find for anyone not familiar with the area. It is in Grayton Beach, Florida—just off Highway 30A. The actual address is on Logan Lane. If unfamiliar with the area, you should probably use your GPS. The restaurant is funky but comfortable, informal and a friendly atmosphere. Outdoor dining is an option and the outdoor patio overlooks a small pond (see photos). It and provides more ambiance but, even in Florida, the weather can be uncomfortable outside so take that into consideration. I started off my meal with a dozen steamed oysters. I have tried and written reviews of several local restaurants in the last couple of weeks searching for very good oysters. These were the best oysters I have found so far. They were steamed but not overly cooked. They came with butter and horseradish and cocktail sauce. For the most part, I just ate the oysters as they were served on the half-shell (see photo). A dozen steamed oysters are not that filling so we followed up with a basket of shrimp and fish. This came with a large helping of french fries. My dining companion had a cup of the "soup of the day" which contained crab and she indicated it was very good. The fish was yellow-tail. It was fried. Served in a basket. It was not overcooked so was moist and had very good flavor. The fried shrimp were some of the best I have had recently—they tasted fresh and the kitchen did not sit around waiting for them to get rubbery from overcooking them. There were too many french fries for two people with relatively small appetites to eat so we ate about half of the order. On our latest visit, the waitress was very good. She was friendly, knew the menu well and provided us with large glasses of iced tea throughout the meal. The atmosphere is very informal, shorts and t-shirts are common. There is a good selection of wine and other alcoholic beverages. The iced tea came in a very large glass; very efficient as one glass was more than enough and it was not necessary for the server to have to refill the glass several times as is the case at many restaurants. The food was well prepared and tasted very good. The restaurant has a "beach vibe" of informality but with good food."
"Ashley, our waitress was amazing and memorized everyone’s order. My friends ordered and enjoyed the peel-and-eat shrimp and the oyster nachos. The vegetarian sandwich was okay. I loved the corn fritters, aka hushpuppies. We drank water."
"Last night in the 30A area for our trip and this place was my group’s fav! All of us got a delicious dish. My sister-in-law and I got pan seared scallops and the Bayou sampler. Both were amazing but the my bayou sampler was loved by everyone (pictured below). It was flavorful! Our husbands got oysters. They ordered extra because they loved them so much and wanted more. We got there around 5:30 pm and only waited 15-20 min for a table inside on a Saturday night. The later people arrived, the longer the wait of course. It had indoor and outdoor seating and a bar. Service was great! And our waitress was training someone new. Still was good service!"
