"Today my five year old and I got our haircut here. Amber was the one who did our haircuts and she did a decent job. It was a little slower than I would have liked, but she did okay. The salon itself, however, is in bad shape. The owner clearly does not care about the conditions in the salon being hygienic and clean. The floors were filthy, including carpets. The walls were filthy and need to be sanded and repainted; the baseboards were filthy and need to be replaced. There were areas needing a very good dusting and cleaning. The hard floors need deep cleaned. All of the chairs look very old, worn and needing replaced and matched. The chair that I sat in was very uncomfortable during my haircut and I could never get my hair highlighted in that chair for that reason. My child needed a booster seat while getting her hair shampooed before her haircut and they had two extremely dirty options that did not work properly, so they opted for towels and a pillow. I felt like giving my child a bath after being in all that filth. Personally I think the salon should be completely gutted and redone to be clean and fresh; but, at minium it needs completely deep cleaned everywhere, holes filled, sanded and entirely repainted; the carpets trashed and replaced or just ditched altogether, new beautician stands, lower/longer mirrors, and new chairs. The price of a child's basic haircut is a little too high at $20, but that wasn't the deal breaker for me b/c it's convenient to my chiropractor and I'm willing to pay a hair more for convenience.. The deal breaker is the the condition of the salon. It looks like it hasn't been properly cleaned or renovated since the 80's. We won't be back because it's too filthy, and I don't feel comfortable with myself or my children being in that environment. Every now and then you have to invest some money into your place of business because you care about your customers. This could have been done long before the disastrously over-priced economy that we now live in, but regardless of the current prices, this salon's owner needs to step up, care enough, and clean up and renovate the entire salon inside and outside. She/he just lost repeat customers today."
