Reviews
"Honestly, art museums are just not my thing. I’m not sure if it was the exhibits displayed this visit or what, but it was the most boring visit I’ve had to any museum. I can appreciate art, but the current exhibits did not speak to me at all. Some of the other reviews with past exhibits look amazing and I’m so disappointed that this visit was a miss for me. Hope for better exhibits in the future. Tickets were $10 per person and it’s a good price for the museum."
"There's so much to see here! Currently Saturdays are free, which makes it a great stop for a low cost weekend with the family. It took us about 30-40 minutes to get through 4 floors of exhibits. (Don't forget about the 5th floor). Front desk was very helpful too."
"I’m very impressed by the quality of the artwork here. The University of North Florida runs this museum and they have clearly done a fantastic job of restoring and maintaining the facility. Five floors of wonderful displays. Try the coffee shop as well. Excellent service and great food."
"Excellent collection of contemporary art and an exquisite visual arts education institution. From Joan Mitchell to Frank Stella to Lauren Fensterstock. I visit as often as my own studio time allows. Museum Nights (every first and third Wednesday of each month)are always fun and refreshing with new artists sharing their experiences."
"Lived her for a decade or two and did not know about this find! Diagonally located from City Hall and next to James Walden Park, you have to stop in. The Sunday we went there was an exhibition so we could not get in for free. Still the friendly staff at the front desk said we could look at the first floor and the art pieces presented. This was one large one at the top of the steps. There were several displays and descriptions of each piece. There is a small cafe where you grab a refreshing drink and treat before heading out. I grabbed a brochure and see they have events like: Fall Family Day, Kids Art Lab, Artful Movement, Coffee with a Curator and more in the months ahead. I can't wait to explore all the galleries on the next levels. I see that all Jacksonville Library card holders receive free admissions on the last Friday of each month. College Students get free admission Tuesday-Friday, 1:30-5PM. Clean, organized, relaxing, educational and more! We will be back to check out more Artist's work and the wonderful opportunity our city offers."
