"Dropped off my heels on a Saturday. I asked the man if he could have them done in a few hours and he said no that he would have them ready by Monday. It took me two weeks to pick them up came in at 9:30 in the morning when he should’ve been open and I waited and he never open finally came in the next day to pick up my shoes and it had looked like he had sown the leather straps together with the thinnest piece of thread. . I’m not a cobbler so I didn’t know if maybe he should’ve used a thicker piece or a different material. I didn’t question it till I put on the heels went to leave my house and the strap broke. Didn’t even last me 10 minutes. For 15 bucks it really looks like he had no idea what he was doing."
"Horrible craftsman & worse businessman! He ruined two pair of nice dressy sandals, scraped up the wedge and put black polish on to cover scars and scruffs he put on them. I paid $20 for heels on both & now they are trash. Then he tried to cover it up instead of telling me the truth! Don't go here if you like your shoes!!!"
"Probably the worst place I have ever been for shoe repairs. Strongly recommend you go somewhere else. These are my opinions… Claimed that I only brought in three pairs of shoes when I brought in four. Doesn't fill out his own paperwork to reflect the numbers of items left behind. Watch out for that. Luckily right in front of him I had videoed all four pairs of shoes right on the counter. And how we agreed on the price of $50. He ultimately found my shoes behind the counter. And then he started rambling that the shoes didn't belong to me because they didn't look like my other shoes. What? Like a trip to the twilight zone. I can't believe he has been in business the nine years he has claimed. And no, I never leave reviews like this."
"Where do I even start? I guess the owner could be great to work with as long as you don’t cross him. If you cross him, WATCH OUT! Today I parked in this spot (see picture) so I could quickly go in the SAME building next to him. I was not taking up the only spot in front of his business & there was no sign saying for this shop only. As I was walking into picky pinchers next door (connected to his shop) WITH MY 7 YEAR OLD, he comes around and ask if the navy blue car was mine and tells me I need to move it as it’s for his customers only. I explained I’m only going to be 5 minutes, can I just look really quick and I’ll leave. He starts raising his voice that it’s for his customers only, I’m not even parked straight & I need to move NOW. I calmly say I just need 5 minutes as I have to be somewhere anyway. He starts yelling at me and says he is calling the cops. I say there is no sign saying this is only for his shop and yells more (I have no clue what he was even saying at this point) The shop I was going to go in says “you better move or he will tow you”. So I loaded up and left. I did scream at him from outside that I wonder how he gets customers treating people this way. Who yells at a mother and kid like this?! I would love an apology but my guess is this shop owner is always right and once you cross him, he will say and do whatever he wants even to a woman and child."
"Pierre at Bobalu is truly a craftsman! He took a pair of $500 boots that were seven years old that had totally fallen apart (the heel was off) and transformed them. I thought I may have to throw them away but instead I picked up a new pair of boots! He also repaired another pair of booties that had been roughed up walking in New York City, also like new. All this for $30! He is my go to for all shoe repairs. He is also the nicest, most honest person you could find. I highly recomend Bobalu Shoe Repair!"
