"Staff was nice we rolled in at 1:30 am but had booked the room the day before. They put us in a room on the highway side of the hotel even though the parking lot was empty. They charge a $50.00 deposit for the room, but don’t give it back for 3 days. The room was decently clean(no bugs) but smelled like at damp towel. The window air conditioner was missing it filters and there was rust on all the metal surfaces. See pictures of the door. The door had to be pulled closed and there was a chain lock as additional security. When I mentioned the issues in the morning I was told that they are remodeling so I asked why we would not have been place in a remodeled room. The breakfast was waffles and cereal that’s is nothing else. Very sad for what o am used to from a choice hotel. The pool and spa had a stray cat pooping in the spa which was empty all but a few inches of green water."
"Family members booked this hotel for our stay before a cruise. I was skeptical with all bad reviews but it was a nice simple hotel to stay for the night. It is older and has some scrapes, scratches, dents, and rust but it was super clean and neat and did not see any bugs at all. The lady at the front desk was also really nice and asked me twice if I needed help with my bag(I packed too much lol)."
"Yesterday before going into the hotel we went into the reviews and I was scared of going into the hotel on how bad the reviews were. When I got into the hotel I realized that the hotel was into its category. Rooms are clean, no outside sounds, breakfast was good, the staff was really good too. If you’re looking for a hotel to sleep and then leave afterwards then this is perfect but if you’re not looking for this then you have to look for another one."
"The price was what drew me to take a room here for a couple of nights. The structure on the exterior is worn and torn here and there although that isn't what you see when you pull up. For first sight it looks fine. It's only when you've seen the photos in here you begin to look for the deterioration of materials from the salty air and other elements Florida experiences throughout the year every year. For those who have lived along the Eastern Seaboard most of their lives it's not an uncommon occurrence. Someone from another state in other parts of the country see it differently. They view it as disrepair (and fairly accurate) and neglect (maybe maybe not). The weather here in Florida certainly does take it's toll on buildings, vehicles and the environment. It's a costly maintenance. However it shouldn't reflect poorly on the services received here. From the time I checked in yesterday through the day today I've only enjoyed to he staff and their anxious willingness to be friendly, cordial and entertaining. All with a genuine smile and that matters a lot these days. The pitting of the metals in the rooms I agree should be addressed and perhaps a special cleaner to remove as much of it as possible but where there's salt water there's rust and corrosion. Maintenance budgets aren't what they used to be 20/30 years ago. The outrageous costs which could be considered gross extortion for the shoddy repair work offered these days is enough to break the profits in a way where a business could surely go under. I wouldn't want to be faced with only the rates the Hyatt would run so I tend to overlook the details that do not matter to me and focus on what I'm getting for my money. This was an exceptional price for a motel stay and I'm grateful I didn't have to pay exorbitant rates to bridge me between my old apartment and the new which lagged in availability. I'm cool with a little aged character as long as the roof doesn't collapse on my head. The beds are comfortable enough and the room was clean. The staff is awesome and life is good."
"Nope, don't do it! The girl at the front desk was pleasant and helpful, this is about the only positive about this location, well, other than the fact that they have coffee available all day. The owner of the property has construction people staying on site, hotel employees have their friends over for pool time at night, and they do not get along! Screaming and yelling directly outside of my door while these folks fought last night, ended up having to call the police. Just to be clear, had these been other guests of the hotel, this would not have been included in the review, however, due to the fact that this was self-inflicted by employees and ownership, I felt it notable. I had to go to front desk and ask for cleaner and a scrub brush so that I could clean my shower head, as it clearly had not been cleaned since purchased, water barely trickled out. Bugs. I travel for work, over 80 nights in hotels this year alone and understand that bugs are a part of the process, especially in Florida. However, last night at around 3:00 a.m. while I was laying awake from the extremely uncomfortable bed and pillows, I felt something scurry underneath my back, swiped it away and fell back asleep out of sheer and utter exhaustion, hoping it was a bad dream. This morning when I went to make my bed, the blood on the sheets indicated that this was not a bad dream, but reality. Cigarette butts and trash throughout the property. Does not look like it has been maintained in years. I could go on and on, but I think I've made my point. Owners, take some pride in your establishment!"
