Doubletree Gainesville

"I was a bit worrisome about booking here after all the reviews but overall, it was an average experience. I am usually a big fan of Doubletree by Hilton properties but, this one feels extremely dated. Upon arrival, the bar and market areas are contemporary and nicely designed. However, its downfall are the rooms. For starters, one elevator for the whole hotel seems very counter intuitive. Next, the sound insulation in the rooms are awful and you can hear pretty much everything in the hallways. Room condition left much to be desired, carpet flooring was torn and ripping from the seams, the carpet floor was damp upon arrival, and there was clearly garbage left on the floor from the previous guest. Now, the worst part of all: the bathrooms. It is unacceptable to have a guest pay money for a room and not have a clean bathroom. The towels were used, hair on the floor and lack of toiletries. I was so dismayed, I reluctantly showered with my sandals. Completely, ruined my experience here and I will be choosing not to return."

"Hotels like this one give the Hilton name a black eye. Rooms are very dated. Beds are sagging and heavily used and have stains everywhere. Room furniture is heavily worn. Carpets are stained and torn. Bathrooms are dirty/moldy/stinky. Bar service is OK. However I don't recommend the food. The grilled chicken sandwich requires a steak knife to eat it. I've personally stayed at over 100 different Hilton properties. This hotel's common areas are run of the mill. Rooms however are definitely in the bottom 20%. I won't be back anytime soon."

"We came for a tour of UF. Like that we had contactless registration walked straight to our room and unlocked our door with our phone. Room and bathroom were extremely clean. You can tell it had been renovated. Only bad thing was the elevator- to be expected it’s old and slow. A bit over priced for a late check in and for a one night visit but had a great rest. Will definitely stay here again"

"Was overall ok with the room although the shower was not clean. The worst was my family being woken up at around 1230 by a drunk male trying to get in our room. He was screaming and banging with threats to kill us. Only positive was that a staff member arrived pretty quickly to get rid of him. Front desk was not very concerned when I reported this morning."
