"As a first time Mom who recently stopped breastfeeding, I really needed bras that fit and were comfortable. I finally decided to do things properly and get measured by y a professional. I walked in this morning without a clue what my size was and asked for help. A lovely lady named Lisa measured me and recommended two bras based on my preferences. Oh my goodness, it felt like I have never truly had a bra that actually fit until today! They did not have my preferred color in my size, but I left with four bras in two styles and comparable colors. It was the experience I really needed, and I will be coming to Soma for all of my bras in the future."
"Update: I called customer service, as recommended and spoke with someone truly understanding of my situation. While speaking with her, I learned that Soma DOES offer my size online and in the store I was at. I'm not sure why the associate I spoke about in my prior review would tell me otherwise. It was exceptionally cruel. I was offered a $50 credit on my account as a means of trying to make things right. I appreciated the lengthy conversation I had with customer service over the phone, but was still having anxiety about going back. Later, my partner went with me to Soma. The same location. I don't think I could have gone without him. The same woman was there, but there were also several other staff, including a kind woman named Crystal who helped me. She asked permission before sizing me, never touched me, and then found me several bras that fit and did exactly what I needed them to do. Turns out, I'd actually gone down a size. I hadn't gotten bigger. I didn't need a breast reduction and that was never even mentioned. Crystal listened to me and helped. She and the other associate helping me were fantastic and were exactly the type of people I was used to interacting with at Soma. My $50 credit wasn't on my account, but they reassured me that it might take a few days to show up and asked that I try again when I came back after my trip. I will come back and I hope that I have a similar experience to this one when I do. I still hope that something is done about the first woman who "helped" me. I don't think she should be working there. She is a poor brand advocate, is cruel to customers, and doesn't do a proper job. Thank you for making things right. ----- original post ----- Have shopped at Soma for over a decade. Love the clothes. Service used to be MUCH better. I have a large chest and it's only gotten larger over the years. Because of an ankle injury that left me on crutches and a cane for over 4 years, I've put on weight and needed to get new bras. I visited Soma because they had always been so kind to me, even when I was at my largest. This evening, I went to the same Soma that had always treated me well and I was greeted by people who weren't very nice. I was sized up in the middle of the store and the attendant touched my chest without permission. I was shown to the sizing room and was handed a bra that looked awful on me. It honestly felt like the cup size was both too big and too small. When the attendant came back, she said it was too small. When I asked questions about other sizes and styles, I was told they didn't have any other sizes that would fit me, told to go to Lane Bryant and then, ultimately, that I should get a breast reduction and to work with my doctor to document everything for insurance. That was her advice: shop somewhere else and have surgery. The lady helping me never even measured me (despite wearing a measuring tape over her shoulder). She just eyeballed my size, made a guesstimate about my cup and strap size, and made me feel like the only way I would ever find clothes that would fit me was to have a surgery I don't want. Time to find a new place to buy nice panties because I won't be shopping at Soma again."
"I have been shopping at Soma for years + usually the workers hound you "may I help you find anything", but today was a complete 360. I walked in + I am presuming the manager on duty (wearing red) didn't even greet me. I have a bra size that is not easily found so I knew I wanted some assistance . No one was wearing name tags so I finally asked a woman (African American) if she works at the store. she says yes + I ask if she could please assist me. she was not pleasant and extremely rude. She definitely didn't want to be at work. She brought out the bras, sets them down + says "there you go". walks away. I think I am ready to check out until I realize I should take advantage of my $100 off coupon + need to spend more. I had to ask the employee in red if she would place my items behind the counter while I still shop (mind you when I got to the counter I said something to her + she didn't respond. I thought she was on the phone but she was on her personal phone with no courtesy to customers). So in that timeframe, I see out of my side view a man (wearing sunglasses) just staring at me. when I continued to shop, he was WATCHING ME. I went to the front of the store (where I ended up finding the item I previously asked both workers if they had in stock. I was told no + ["I thought she told you we didn't]). With that, I am ready to complete my purchase. While waiting for an employee to come to the register, I notice the man walks over towards the register and is near me again. then he whistles. So not only was I disrespected my entire time in Soma, I had a man acting extremely odd (he could have been harmless, but my self aware instincts kicked in). When I sat in my vehicle, I noticed him walk out + he did not make any purchase. I spent enough to not have to go to Soma for a long time. + I will order online to avoid the degrading employees."
"I have been shopping at Soma for many years and NEVER received bad service. The town center soma in particular has been my favorite one to shop. Today while in store with my daughter the young lady assisting us was no where near as discreet as I have experienced in the past. There was a young gentlemen in the back stocking the door open to the dressing room. When I asked of he worked here she said yes. I explained it was uncomfortable and fully expected her to close the stock room door. Instead she stated she was not uncomfortable. I furthermore explained I was and would stay in the back with my daughter. She again instead of closing the door stated he was fine. I have never felt uncomfortable or like the person serving me in the store was unfriendly. I will not return to this store and hope to hear back from the customer service dept I emailed. The manager looked very unprofessional as well which is not my typical experience. For the first time in many years I walked out of the store only buying one item I needed versus the normal and my daughter really needed bras. It would have been a large sale."
"I went in to get my daughter fitted for some bras. I am a member of the IBTC and hardly ever wear bras and had been at a lose for where to go to get her the right kind of bra. A friend told me to check out Soma and I'm so glad we did!!! Kerri got my daughter measured and took the time to explain how a good bra should fit. It was like a light bulb went on for my daughter and she felt confident that she could purchase bras in the future and get the right kinds. It was very busy in the store but Kerri was so patient. She answered ALL of our questions and made sure we left with everything we needed. She made sure to check the fits before we made our purchases and she was just an all around kind person. Kirby checked us out and went through the receipt with me to make sure we got all of our discounts. I never felt rushed and my daughter left with a huge smile on her face. I am so appreciative that you all have such knowledgeable and kind staff. THANK YOU!!!"
