"I have been coming to this place for over 7 years, and the quality of service from the Vet has gone completely downhill. The overall experience at this Vet is a complete disappointment. The doc makes you feel like a complete stranger every time you speak to him, and sometimes I wonder why he's even a vet because he shows no passion for his work and makes you feel like your pet is just a paycheck to him."
"Today, I had a terrible experience with Dr. Javier Gonzalez. I work in restaurants and it has been a rough season financially. My dog Russo had his annual check up today. Before the visit I asked to take the heart worm pills off and the rabies tag, for I wanted to do it later when I am in a better position financially. The nurses were very nice and worked with me. When Dr. Gonzalez entered the room he was angry. He started asking me questions in a condescending voice. Throughout the visit he was very rude. This will be my last visit at Fort Lauderdale vet."
"Wouldn't recommend, disappointed in this veterinary center. Dr Gonzalez knew my dog very well. Unfortunately, when I took him in for a vet visit, he suggested I did annual blood work. I advised that I felt like it wasn't needed. He refused to see my dog since I wouldn't get the bloodwork done and spend the money. I have the right as the parent of my pet to respectfully decline. I had to see another vet and requested my dog's paperwork from this center. I then had an emergency and put aside the situation for what was in best interest of my dog. Made an appointment and then 30 minutes before my appointment, they called me saying they are refusing to take care of my dog, because I refused bloodwork or the "last incident." He should put his pride aside and respect the decision of his customers that decline any treatment where they didn't feel was needed or wanted. But instead, he declined a pet emergency. Wouldn't recommend, go somewhere else where they put your pets first and not try to force any treatment that you dont deem necessary."
"Dr. Gonzalez has been a well known Vet for our family pets, did multiple surgeries for multiple of our dogs. Around 30,000 thousand dollars later, we chose to refuse blood work for one of our older dogs. Just because of that Dr. Gonzalez requested we leave, Sure no problem! fast forward to today. We made an emergency visit for our dog, who has a giant hole in his leg from an abscess. On our way there we get a call stating Dr. Gonzalez refuses to see our dog because we refused blood work one time, when we needed a refill on an anti inflammatory for our dog.. I’m sorry, WHAT?! He couldn’t get a couple more hundred dollars from drawing labs ONE visit, he wants to refuse care? As someone in the medical field, I believe we have a right to refuse any lab we do not want done. Beauty of America am I right? I am sorry but when you take an oath to treat animals, you do your damn job. I’m sure this emergency visit would of made up for the money you would of made for that blood work. Dr. Gonzalez, I hope animal lovers like myself read this and take all of there animals to a Vet that is passionate, and loves there job because clearly all it is to you is a paycheck."
"In January of 2023 my Wife and I were told that our baby Ivory had 3 months to live. Then they told us that we needed to bring him to a vet close to home so that he could get treatment every 3 days. We then brought Ivory to Dr. Javier. The staff was so caring and compassionate and he loved seeing them. During the initial exam and 1st treatment they took blood. Dr. Javier called us and told us that even after his treatment his kidney levels got worse. He told us we could continue the Treatment as recommended by the Vet Hospital however its hard on his heart and his body and he would probably pass in a few weeks. We decide to just love him and make him comfortable at home until he passed. We lost Ivory 3 months later the day before the terrible flood. I can not say enough about Ft. Lauderdale Veterinary Center. Dr. Javier put Ivory's comfort and pain over his profits. I truly admire his love for pets over money. This Center is simply amazing. Thank you Dr. Javier for being so caring."
