"Healthy Pets has been there for me and my family through the good times and the bad. Everyone is so patient and kind and ready to answer any questions I may have as well as go over different treatment plans depending on what we were there for. After my ol' boys dental extractions (15 total) they made sure to call and check in on both of us. They truly care about their patients and their owners. We are so thankful for the Healthy Pets team. From the doctors and nurses, to the manager, to the front desk staff, every one there makes you feel like part of the family. Thank you Healthy Pets for all you do and taking care of my fur babies! We truly appreciate you!!!!"
"10/10 would recommend Healthy Pets veterinary over and over again. They love our Chelsea girl as if she is their own. From the front desk to the veterinarians themselves, they are professional, caring and friendly."
"I started bringing my dog to Healthy Pets when I moved to Boca in 2020. My dog Darcy was a senior dog in exceptional health, with zero health issues. She could run, walk for hours, and hardly had any gray. Things started off ok while Darcy was well, but ultimately Healthy Pets is part of the reason that she is now gone. I cannot stop thinking about how her death could have been prevented if she had been getting the comprehensive care that all dogs, but especially seniors, should get. The first thing that contrubuted is that Darcy never had a regular doctor at healthy pets. I seems like the turnover at this place is monthly, as I never saw the same doctor but once or twice, and I brought her in very regularly. The second and more serious issue is that I was never informed that there are heartworm preventative resistant mosquitoes in south Florida who's prevalence is on the rise. Yes, your dog can get heartworms even on medication. The clinic never mentioned this, and never suggested we test Darcy more regularly for heartworms because of it. The last couple times I was there, just a couple months before Darcy became sick in Jan 2023, I mentioned that her breathing seemed lounder, and asked if it was normal as they got older or if it needed to be checked out. I was told louder breathing was normal, and we went home. I also mentioned that day that Darcy seems more lethargic, which was also dismissed as age related. The thing is though, my dog never slowed down or even seemed to age. These doctors just didn't know her, and didn't bother to. It seems many vets just look at a number on a page and assume beacuse a dog is larger and older, they're decrepit too. Well Darcy wasn't, and those changes I noticed were actually heartworm disease, undiagnosed. Fast forward to January, and Darcy collapsed out of the blue one day. When I brought her in to healthy pets she was diagnosed with severe anemia (IMHA) and heart worm disease. At this point the heartworm disease was much more pronounced that it would have been if they had suggested a test a few months prior when I brought up her symptoms, and had triggered her immune system to attack and destory her red bloods cells leading to irreversible IMHA. The first suggestion Healthy Pets made was that I put Darcy down right then "because of her age and the diagnosis and related costs". This was the point where I went and found an internal medicine specialist, got Darcy a blood transfusion, and got her on all the medications she needed to reverse the anemia and treat the heartworms. Darcy lived another quality few months, and I even reversed her anemia completely for 6 months. But battling the IMHA and heartworms took a massive toll on us both, and I ultimately had to say goodbye to my best friend at the end of August 2023. I poured my heart and soul into this dog to keep her in good health into her older years, and I truly believe if her heartworms had been diagnosed earlier she would still be alive now. The negligence of Healthy Pets without a doubt contrubuted to her early death and suffering. Sadly I'm sure this is a common story at so many other vet clinics, too. Ultimately I wanted to write this review to encourage you, the pet owner, to be advocates for your pets. Demand the tests. Spend the extra money. Do your own research. If I could go back in time I would have been taking Darcy to a very credentialed internal medicine specialist after age 10, not this place. I just didn't know any better. I know I am partly culpable for my ignorance and I will never forgive myself, but I am not a doctor, and I trusted who I thought I should trust - and ultimately paid the price by cutting my dogs life short. Save yourself the same heartbreak. Get your dogs blood work done every 6 months, even if the vet doesn't reccomend it. If you have a senior dog, do senior blood work every 6 months too. Find a clinic where the same doctor sees your dog everytime, so they can make informed observations on changes in your pet. Healthy Pet's, what you overlooked cost me more than anyone could every repay me."
"Admittedly, this is not a fair review of the full service, because I left, so I'm giving this a 3 instead of a 1. However, I arrived early as instructed by the 4-6 confirmation texts, emails, and calls to an empty office. When I was later greeted by staff I was told the doctor was still at lunch and wouldn't be back for another 20 minutes. Both the tech and the receptionist (might have been a tech as well) were kind and seemed very capable. What really got to me was how clearly coached the tech was on upselling wellness plans. It's a business. I get it. But, it felt like the tech was being forced to be focused on up selling. When I just accepted to sign up for a wellness plan to move on, I was told I would need 2 forms of payment. That was enough of their business model for me so I left. I'm sure the services are adequate and nothing egregious happened to me, but the overall interaction was negative. I hope the staff makes commission on the wellness plans..."
"I love this place! My kitty, Lemon, has a very unique eye condition. She is completely blind and can get startled very easily by loud noises or new people. They are not only professional, but they truly do care about every pet they have the pleasure of taking care of. Their cat rooms have pheromone plugins to help keep the cats calm during their time there. I don't trust any other veterinarian clinic with Lemon and recommend this place to all my friends and family. Thank you guys for taking such good care of Lemon! You guys are the best!"
