"Avoid this physician! He’s charging patients for ‘dosing appointments.’ The staff will tell you that they are required by state law but they are NOT (they will not tell you about these extra appointments when you schedule your first). The initial visit is $280 which only includes the submission of your application and a 5 minute meeting with Dr. Patel (he seemed to be in a hurry to get me out of the office). Then they will want to see you THREE more times for these dosing appointments - each visit costs $150. Save your money and go somewhere that doesn’t take advantage of people. As soon as my application was approved I switched to another physician. My new physician prescribed medical cannabis for the next 7 months until I have to see her again. Switching physicians saved me $450."
"I just got off of a follow up phone conference with Dr. Patel. Up until this point, he has been very nice and kind and easy to deal with. This was my 3rd interaction with him and I am livid. I expressed that the money that he charges seems to be a bit excessive. The initial appointment was like any other consultation, not a medical visit. It was to ask me what issues I have that had me seeking a medical marijuana card. I discussed my history (which includes breast ca, torn meniscus in both knees, side effects of hormone suppressants, etc. and difficulty sleeping due to all of those side effects). That visit with him was probably about 15 minutes and cost $280. I was instructed to go onto the state website to register for my card which was another $75. I then had to make a dosing appointment with Dr. Patel after I received my card. That was another $150 for him to SUGGEST what would work for me. I told him repeatedly that I did not want to smoke anything and I was only interested in sublingual drops...he kept trying to sell me on smokable forms, but in reality, I can pick out anything I want. He makes a recommendation because there are are no specific doses like any other medications. He does tell you how much to take of the products that he recommends and to work your way up to what works for you. I then went and got my product and followed the instructions. It definitely helps with my sleep and I'm happy with the product that was recommended. But he requires another follow up appointment to find out how effective it is. That is the appointment I just had with him over the phone for another $150. So far, I have paid $580 out of pocket for 3 appointments and he requires a 4th appointment in 2 months for another $150 for me to tell him that it works. Today he asked me, on a scale of 0 to 100 how effective is it in helping with my sleep. I said 90% and he said that it's really good. He then told me that I should start tapering off of another prescribed medication that I take at night since the Polaris (the sublingual drops that I'm taking) should work just fine without having to take my other medications. I told him that I was concerned over how much it costs to maintain this medical marijuana card and that's when I saw (or rather heard) a different side of him. He was defensive and rude and told me I was wasting his time. He told me that I am paying for a service and it's up to me how much I "value" the service. I said for someone who has gone through cancer and otherwise lives a healthy lifestyle, that it is very expensive to not only pay for all of the medical treatment that I've had to pay for to date (multiple surgeries, rehab, lost time from work, lymphedema & treatment for that, etc.) and that I have to think about whether I want to continue with his services. I told him, that it's not a matter of not finding value in using the product, but that I can't help to feel taken advantage of financially because I was unfortunate enough to get cancer and now need some help with the ramifications of that. There was no empathy at all, he literally told me I was wasting his time. I will be finding someone else, or allow my card to lapse. His requirements are not required by the state to maintain it. For a 5 minute appointment, if he has 12 in 1 hr, he's making $1800 in 1 hr. This is a cash cow and I feel that it's taking advantage of people who have ailments that they can't find relief for or who have tried multiple means of getting the needed relief and people just figure out a way to take advantage of those desperate to feel some type of normalcy."
"I have been visiting Dr. VARESH PATEL for over year now. When I started visiting him, I had come out of various eye operations and anxiety ridden situations. I cannot take chemical medication since it messes with my system and medical cannabis seemed like a solution to a variety of problems I was facing. He listened to my problems and suggested some strains to try. We went through the process to get my card and once I received it, I headed out to get my medical cannabis. With each visit, we go over my progress with each different strain I try and I’m glad to say I am finally sleeping 6 hrs straight again!! One problem solved!! :) Ashley takes detailed notes and keeps up with the progress. All in all, the experience has been fantastic! From the nice friendly nurses and staff, to Dr PATEL, everyone will help you achieve a healthier you! Don’t wait. Make an appointment .... it will change your life!"
"SCAM! They are a scam and did not explain the complete process to me before taking my payment. I thought it was going to be 280 in total but there are three more dosing appointments they dont tell you about until you get in, each 150 each appointment. The DR. is taking advantage of people. Never go to this doctor ever. The doctor was extremely rude and pushy like a marketing sales man as well. I felt extremely uncomfortable and will be taking my business elsewhere. I have never felt more disgusted and ripped off in my life. THE DOCTOR CHEATED ME, DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR. When I asked my my money back the doctor laughed at my face! He even acknowledged the fact that no one at the front desk told me about the extra appointments and told me he would take one appointment off for me. But I wasn't told about any appointment at all. 300 dollars is more than enough to get this done. The fact that they are trying to get another 450 from appointments is criminal. I want to get this company shut down. I am calling the registry to report what happened. Ever since I wrote this review they now have 4 stars which makes no sense lol."
"I have visited the clinic w a friend. The office staff were courteous, kind and efficient. Dr Patel was very informative and compassionate. He listened to my friends story and assured her that he could help her. My friend felt so much at ease and is excited to feel better once the dosing is tittered. The process of paperwork was not burdensome but extensive. So what. The state regulates much of this process and trying to navigate the system is frustrating for the patient and the physician. I am confident that Dr Patel is competent in this arena of medicine."
