"If you’re into being invalidated and gaslit, this is the place to come. Dr Nawaz dismissed my concerns and experiences, blamed my anxiety (which I’ve already been diagnosed with) on coffee and cigarettes, and put out blatantly false information regarding delayed THC release from fat cells. I don’t smoke but mentioned I was interested in getting my card so I could get some help with sleep and panic attacks and she went off on how THC gets stored in your fat cells and can cause anxiety upon rerelease. I recently found the time to dig into this claim and I’m not finding a thing. The closest I found is that experiencing stress while having THC stored in your body can cause that THC to be released. The stress causes the release of THC, not the other way around. Dr Nawaz also apparently didn’t believe me when I told her I have a Master’s Degree and work in pharma, because she probably just saw “enlisted veteran” in the notes and assumed I was an idiot, because that’s exactly how she treated me. Talking to me like a four year old and telling me how proud she was for my understanding that caffeine and nicotine are stimulant drugs, but yet chastising me for using them. It’s almost like this psychiatrist doesn’t have a clue what mental illness is or how it works. I have half a mind to report her to the board, I am so disturbed by my experience with her."
"Dr. Simpson is an amazing psychologist. I haven't had much experience with the office staff besides setting up automatic payments with my credit card, but I haven't had any issues thus far. There are a TON of therapists out there, you just have to find the right fit for you."
"Charged my insurance and charged me cash up front. Disputed the cash charge, which they "forgot" about after 2 months so I initiated a charge back with my bank, that they submitted "proof" that I owed them money and my bank then charged me back for the amount also. This place is a sorry excuse for a doctor's office, and unfortunately I'm stuck with them. If you can turn and run for the hills, do it before it's too late."
