"I went to Dr. Blackmon a few years ago to be analyzed. I had strange behaviors such as overcleaning, severe anxiety and racing thoughts. Instead of sitting down with me and talking over these symptoms, which I was shy to display on the spot, he just shrugged them off. No professional behavior was ever shown. Never believe what a child says, right? I went through a basic educational test and a spreadsheet of questions that were unrelated, only to have him say my handwriting (as a seven year old) was horrible. The only solution he offered to my parents was to LOCK ME IN MY ROOM if I ever had these symptoms pop up. His lack of belief in me made my parents skeptical that I had anything wrong, and so I never got second opinions from another doctor. I found him again just today through an unrelated website for doctors and I felt like I really needed to warn people. Please do not send your children to him. I'm doing much better now, and was officially diagnosed with OCD after fourteen years of battling depression, intrusive thoughts and overwhelming compulsions."

"I would not recommend Dr. Blackmon. Use another psychologist to have testing done. I went to him to have my daughter tested for ADD. His website looked like his fees were cheaper that other practices. Pay the extra money and go somewhere else- it ends up being more than expected anyway. He came across as judgmental and even made me feel ashamed at times of how my daughter acted during the sessions. This is added to the time it has taken to schedule the appointments. Plus I still don't have the report as promised."

"I often think about how much Dr. Blackmon had helped me to get to where I am today in my education. 3 years ago I was trying to get into grad school but was struggling completing timed exams because I have a learning disability. I was referred to Dr. Blackmon for an evaluation and he confirmed my diagnosis. Dr. Blackmon evaluated my cognitive learning skills over 4-5 sessions (the sessions consisted of tests and measures that were actually very fun for me to participate in). I truly enjoyed my evaluation visits with Dr. Blackmon. He was patient, understanding and caring towards my situation. After seeking out Dr. Blackmons services, I received the accommodations I needed and I successfully took the GRE and was accepted into a doctorate of physical therapy program, where I have been the last two and a half years :) EVERY TIME I take an exam I think of how grateful I am to have the accommodations that Dr. Blackmon helped me to get.
