"Do not send your child to her. When I was 13 she tried to tell me my Juvenile Arthritis was all in my head and I really just had “AMPs” pain syndrome. She somehow convinced my parents of it too. She tried to send me to a program at CHOPs that forces kids to do exercises against their will because the doctors there think their pain is all in their head too. Thankfully I convinced my parents not to send me and managed to stay on my medication. I would still be untreated and in pain if I hadn’t switched to another doctor."

"My oldest daughter (now 21) saw Dr. Finkel at CHOP in Philadelphia for 3-4 years. We live in Wisconsin and my daughter and I would fly there twice a year to get her medical opinion and recommendations. Often they were consistent with our local Pediatric Rheumatologist (who was very good as well), but on a regular basis Dr. Finkel would identify some leading-edge treatment or technique to help my daughter. I had a small consulting company that began to take-off so I decided to fund some small research projects that could potentially help my daughter and others. Some other physicians and facilities were not interested in working with me on a small and tailored approach. Just as Dr. Finkel went above and beyond in treating my daughter, she did the same by creating an approach that achieved my goals and helped develop her team. Some very good things came out of that. While I have not seen her in 12 years or so I do find difficult to believe that her passion and compassion for children has changed significantly. While I do not know anything about the circumstances of the people who made the other reviews, nor have I been to Nemours Children's Hospital, I would not expect such a dedicated and quality physician / researcher / person to focus on what is best for each and every patient that she sees."
