"My son was not feeling good Friday, I called the office they said “we close at 2:30” it was 1:30 at the time and I couldn’t make it. The desk suggested I bring him to urgent care and follow up visit with dr. Mesghali the following week. I asked because of my work schedule to be seen Wednesday, they made an appointment and I proceed to bring my son to urgent care that next morning. Today is Wednesday, my son is feeling better (not contagious, not sick) - I walked into the office and the front desk asked if he was sick, I said no she then laughed. We were called for him to come into the office and the medical assistant asked if we had a mask, I said he is not sick and doesn’t need a mask. We were placed in the room, vitals were taken ; no fever everything else was okay as well ; medical assistant said the doctor would be in shortly. The doctor then comes in and says “why am I here” explained to her he is still sick and has the same symptoms as the last time she saw him on 7/17. Explained to her he went to urgent care Saturday was prescribed the same antibiotics and I am here for a follow up. Last time my son was at her office she did two tests on him flu and Covid both of which came back negative. Urgent care did strep and it was presumed strep. I was there for a follow up appointment. She stood there with her arms crossed and said I still don’t know why he’s here ; I explained again. Nothing but attitude and dismissive from her. I let her know his tonsils are touching and there’s something wrong. She said she doesn’t know what she wants me to do. She told me I was a liar that her desk never set up this appointment, that she never prescribed My son antibiotics for 1.5 weeks….when I went to her!!! I asked her what the issues was and said because my son isn’t sick and I don’t have him masked is that why you are treating me badly and with such attitude? She said her policy was sick patients must wear masks. I responded my son isn’t sick so he doesn’t need a mask “so you are telling me you are treating me this way and won’t give my son services because is he not wearing a mask”? She said yes that’s exactly why. My 87 year old grandmother was there my SEVEN year old was there. She said you can leave as she was walking out the door. As I had some words for her, her medical assistant was trying to slamming the door in my face. I never have experienced a medical doctor refuse services of a child or speak to a parent this way. She profiled me and my child, she denied her services and questioned me why I was there when her desk was the ones who set this appointment up. Horrible experience I will let everyone in the city, county and be writing a letter to the medical group of the type of doctor and her assistant they have. I should’ve listened to a couple of moms who had a similar interaction. She is a cold, rude, undermining person in how she treated me. And my family ; signed an angry, embarrassed mother."
