"Dr Hurwitz is very kind. I think we really only went once a year or less most years for a checkup. However, our daughter with special needs could not be seen after turning 18, even though we were initially told she could be seen until 22. Dr Hurwitz did see her one extra time, as we waited too long to schedule her final appointment and she had turned 19. The cancer hospital my child goes to needed a referral for insurance, and the office wouldn't provide even three months after she was last seen there. Sadly, we haven't been able to get our daughter in with another new adult physician, so we are stuck needing to get my daughter's MRI, but the office is refusing to give a referral."

"The ladies that work the front are very snooty and you can tell they don’t like there job. Dr Hurwitz has alway been very nice. Yet recently I questioned what ingredients are in the vaccines and she refused to show me the ingredients. She told me that the ingredients I was concerned about definitely we’re not in them. She did however give me the name of the brand her office uses and told me to feel free to do the research on my own. It was a very difficult site to use and I bet she thought I wouldn’t figure it out, but they are definitely in them. So she lied straight to my face! I encourage all moms to look into this, it isn’t right."

"Dr. Hurwitz and her staff are amazing. Both of my children now 8 and 11, have been seeing her since they were babies. Dr. Hurwitz and her staff actual care about their patients. I would highly recommend her to any new parents needing a pediatric physician."

"My daughter went to Dr. Hurwitz when we moved to Sarasota from PA. Dr. Hurwitz was very much aware that my daughter suffered from an anxiety disorder - especially where getting shots was concerned. My daughter was scheduled to have a vaccine and was terrified. Absolutely terrified. Instead of talking with her, calming her and helping her, she sent two extra nurses in to the room to physically restrain my daughter and forced the shot into her arm. This experience has left my daughter with an even greater phobia of shots and more importantly a real distrust of medical professionals. Dr. Hurwitz’s methods are grossly flawed where kids with anxiety disorders are concerned and the approach her office took with my daughter was unprofessional and lacked compassion. My daughter relives this experience night after night much like persons with PTSD do. She cries and becomes visibly shaken when the event invades her thoughts and she has trouble sleeping on these nights. Dr. Hurwitz May be fine for children who don’t suffer from anxiety disorders but if your child does struggle with anxiety, be warned that this pediatrician doesn’t appear to know much about approaching and helping kids with such issues."
