"Great place, very friendly environment and great equipment! The coaching is amazing and so is the community!"
"I dropped in from out of town. Was welcomed immediately by the class. The gym is very clean and spacious. The coach was great. He went through the movements before the workout, and after class showed me how to string together my toes to bar. I will definitely visit again when we come back."
"I started CrossFit in 2009. I have been a member at six different gyms and a coach at two. I have dropped in at dozens of gyms over the years and I have to say, this was, hands down, the worst CrossFit gym I have ever been to. The coach Chrissy(?), wasn’t outright rude… and there was A/C… but that’s where the positives end. I always drop into the nearest CrossFit gym whenever I travel. I emailed ahead of time to let them know my boyfriend and were coming and got no response. My boyfriend messaged their IG page. No response. Annoying, but not the end of the world. We decided to just go anyways. When we showed up, we were told to fill out the online waiver and pay for the class. Cool. We were then told that the 5:30 class would start at 5:35 and to hang out and warm up if we wanted to. Coach asked, “you’ve done CrossFit before?” and that was the extent of her questioning; she didn’t ask about recent training volume, injuries, how long we’ve been training, etc. The strength portion of the class consisted of an ungodly volume of strict weighted pull-ups; 15 sets to be completed in 15 minutes. Right at 5:35 coach told us the rep scheme for the pull-ups and started a 15 minute clock. She told us where the belts and dumbbells were and that was it. No guidance on weight selection, scaling, stimulus… She then spent those 15 minutes teaching a child to jumprope and ignoring the athletes in her class. After the 15:00 clock was up, she told us to grab barbells “and warmup”. In the middle of us warming up with the barbell (again, on our own, no coached warmup) she gave the workout briefing. The briefing consisted of the coach half-heartedly reading the it off of the screen. No points of performance were given. No intended stimulus was given. The coach told us the wrong targeted time for some of the movements and only corrected herself after scrolling by the correct information. It was obvious she did not prepare at all before class. The scaling options were pointed at on the screen but never discussed. After allowing for a couple more minutes of warmup, she started the clock and turned up the music and we got to work. Coach then spent the majority of the workout sitting on a box on her phone. Once my boyfriend and I finished the workout, she turned down the music and closed the door… completely forgetting about the third athlete in the class who was still outside running. When I said something, she frantically opened the door. The athlete came in with :25 to go before the time cap and was still working when the coach told her, “good job” as if she was finished rather than push her to get a few more reps in. During our class, the coach repeatedly said the phrase, “you guys know what you’re doing.” I mean, yes, we do know what we’re doing but what if we didn’t?? She didn’t ask any questions to be able to gauge that. On top of that, the gym was very dirty. There was equipment left out from the previous class. I don’t think anyone has ever moved the GHD’s and cleaned the floor underneath them. The rig is bolted on top of the rubber making it dangerously shaky (Rogue specifically instructs not to do this). And the running route either has you playing frogger in traffic or running in gravel. Frankly, this gym is an embarrassment to CrossFit. There is zero pride in ownership. Everything is poorly executed. The facilities, the coaching, the programming, the communication…. It’s all bad."
"On vacation in Pensacola Beach. I knew I wanted to get in a WOD or two while here (from Milan Michigan) looked up CF Gyms near me and up popped CFGB. The workout was just what I need and Jared was more than helpful to my friend and me. Also, the other athletes were very friendly and welcoming. We (me and my family) visit PCB once or twice a year and I now know that I have a “gym away from home” to go to when on vacation!"
"Great and friendly gym! Dropped in for a day to get a workout. The coach was super friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back next time in Pensacola!"
