"Que was very helpful, kind, patient, and knowledgeable about baseball equipment. I was so lost and he assisted me with getting everything I needed for my 4 year old to play T-ball. He was kid friendly as he helped fit my son with the perfect glove and helmet. Academy is a better place with Que as an employee."
"Very competitive prices, I’ve never checked it but they claim they will match lowest price that you can find on an item and go 5% below. The staff is extremely friendly and will help you if you ask for help. The line is pretty long sometimes due to how good they are, but on other than that a nice place. Every time I need any sport apparel or anything related to sports I go there."
"Update 12/30: Went and bought 2 guns at Bass Pro today. The experience and transaction was complete opposite of this store. Bass pro was friendly, knowledgeable and employees cared about customer service and cared about their jobs. Completely opposite of being mistreated by Laurie, she has no business in customer service. Academy should be ashamed of themselves, although I believe it’s just this Pensacola academy that is poor. Also paying $5 for a background check is something I’ve never experienced before and is real tacky when spending a bunch of money on a gun. Even worse is you can’t pay for it at the register with the guns you get to wait in line up front and bring your receipt back to firearms before they will run it. Then after you finally are ready to buy your gun you get to wait in the line up front again to purchase the gun while an employee carries your gun all the way out of the store. Why have a register in firearms if nobody uses it. Just inconvenience. Original 12/29: Been here twice in the last few months and both times were a nightmare for one reason or another. Today sealed the deal and I will never return. Customer service is very poor and a manager named Laurie a was disrespectful and rude and clearly could care less about the customers."
"Worst purchasing experience of my life.The staff at the gun counter are extremely unhelpful.They are also very rude especially the man with the rotten teeth.This is specifically the Pensacola location I’m referring to.First you will ask an employee where to pick up a site to store pickup. After waiting in line and going to customer service like your told.You will be redirected to a man with rotten teeth at the gun counter.The man with the rotten teeth enjoys the customers having to needlessly wait. He gets off on it.That is why he purposely does not refill the “take a number tickets”He wants you to just stand at the counter with no ticket wondering what’s going on.Eventually if your lucky enough he will tell you he wanted you to have to wait.He will tell you he is working on your background check.However he will not tell you that it could take up to 6 hours.Instead he will just keep saying smart comments while you wait and wait and wait.Finally when you ask how long will this take he will smile at you showing you all his rotten teeth and happily say up to 6 hours.When you tell him I’ll just come back later he won’t tell you that you have to wait 3 days to leave with the gun.He wants you to come back sooner so you can stand at the counter again waiting with no “take a numbers”again eventually he says a manager is on the way to clear your purchase. So now you wait for about 45 minutes so the manager can finally show up to tell you your not allowed to pick the gun up today.And when you return the man with the rotten teeth will try to be funny.He will say your guns not here you have to come back.While you think he is serious he’s also showing you those rotten black teeth again.So once you realize he’s trying to be funny.You stick around reminding him that he is out of the “take a number”tickets.That’s when he informs you he purposely didn’t refill them.He will say I wanted you to have to wait longer.Keep in mind this is after you first wasted your time waiting in line at customer service.Finally When you go to initiate your background check at the gun counter.They send you all the way back to customer service again to pay for your background check.This is before you have to again try to take a number.You know the “take a number” ticket that doesn’t exist. Next you will wait about 45 minutes just so the manager could say you can’t have your gun today.The bottom line is this.I am 42 years old.I have spent several hundreds of thousands of dollars over my lifetime.This was by far the worst purchasing experience of my life.I will never ever step foot inside of this store again.I will never ever buy anything online from them again.I won’t even give away my free gift card from this purchase.Not that I have received it yet because they want you to wait 3 weeks to receive it.The second I receive the gift card it’s going straight in the garbage.That is the same place the entire business should be.And for any manager that is going to see my review.Don’t bother responding to me.And the public should not trust any rebuttal to my review.If a manager wants to make things better.Start by talking to your rude rotten tooth employee"
"I stopped by to check their hiking boots section and backpacks with little faith that I would find something I wanted. To my surprise, I found so far the best fitting hiking boots that I have owned and also a backpack that just happened to match those boots... as soon as I got home, I booked my tickets to Tanzania for my hike early January! I wore the boots for an evening at home and then for two short hikes around town to check the fit and they feel great even before breaking them in!"
