"As a physician I have a perspective that few do. By no means do I dismiss the opinions of the person that may not understand (or want to understand) all the intricacies of what is required for patient care, I do want to stress that outcomes are what is most important. Having said the above, from my first appointment to my surgical prep, to my surgery and post op care, Dr. Leone and staff were fantastic. Holy Cross, where I had my right hip replaced, was fantastic as well. All supporting staff, from sign in, to prep nurses to anesthesia and of course Dr. Leone and his staff on my operative day were amazing. Very courteous staff combined with limited wait times were great. As most doctors do, I ignored my right hip for way too long. I could barely walk and Dr. Leone ensured me that I would do great. I obviously had my doubts as to how much damage I had endured with my hip. I was out of bed same day, doing rehab later in the day and discharged the next day. By the middle of the second week I was already walking without a walker or cane and doing some relatively difficult treadmill walking, of course, against my doctor's and PT wishes. I was literally back to 50% of my workout capabilities 1.5 months out. Now, just 5 months out, I am rowing, stairstepping, working out like crazy. Just a little pain but more from my aggressive workouts than the hip. Dr. Leone gave me a new lease on life. I am 66, can now walk and play with my dogs and am enjoying my grandchildren where before I was incapable. I literally went from a virtual cripple barely able to walk from the parking lot to the workplace to almost full functionality in just 5 months. Lastly, I just want to give some insight to Dr. Leone's skill set. He is tremendous. As as physician and understanding all the issues involved in a replacement, I can honestly say, Dr. Leone understands all the nuances of every joint no matter how different. Incredibly skilled, professional and courteous. As a physician, I give him (and his staff) my highest rating."
