"I had to bring my daughter here, we got there at 4pm & didn’t get her in a room until almost 1am. They said they had a new system and that’s what took so long hopefully they get a grip on it because I was ready to walk out like 3 times. But they provided us snacks and drinks and kept apologizing for the wait and explaining it’s a new system. Mr Orlando is the man dealing with my daughter’s admission. He was very communicative with me. He would update me on what’s going on as he got updated. Very good staff member. Jenny as well she was super sweet and made my daughter feel very comfortable going in"
"Mental health in florida needs to change. My son has been suffering for the past two years from addiction to weed and pills and depression and bipolar. He has been in and out of facilities for different things this year was the worst when my mom died he took it hard we raised him together. He has been suicidal on the websites listening to rapper who glorify suicide. He took a over dose of sleeping pills 2x and was baker acted to this facility University Behavioral and they kept him and released him very quick said he was stabile competent. This was not true is was a bad diagnosis they should have kept him and helped me commit him or mandate him to a long term care program. As a result he had a bipolar episode tore up a few thing assaulted someone and then. Came home and took a overdose of sleeping pills in a attempt to kill himself the fire dept and police worked hard to save him now he finally been hospitalized and baker acted to Aspire health care and they are treating with injections he needed. My son almost committed suicide and this facility said he was fine normal stabile Competent this is incorrect now my son is baker acted again. These facilities need to start mandating and committing patients for longer periods of time before they release them as competent its insane and a huge bill on top of that. My son has medicaid but its all crazy. I pray my son heals and gets better and I always make positive post this is what happen to my son I . If the fire dept didnt get here sooner he had a seizure could have died. Once again he was release as competent. I pray things get better at all the hospitals this rehab in particular for the price they charge. thanks God bless just my experience. 2024 my son is getting the help he needs at Aspire mental health and God thank you !!"
"The staff here is extremely rude and difficult to speak with. If they would communicate better with parents it would be wonderful. In general just answering the phone and not being hateful and actually using full sentences seems to be an issue. Then when I am shocked at how I am being spoken to I am yelled at over the phone. It us very concerning and makes an already stressful situation worse."
"Not a good experience, no communication from the staff. I had dropped off clothes and the clothes was not given til the day of discharge.I was not told I can speak to my daughter, so from the time she was admitted in the center I didn’t talk to my daughter. She was picked up from the hospital 5pm but wasn’t given a room at the facility until 1:30 am . My daughter said that it seemed like they forgot she in the waiting room. It’s hard to deal with the reason you need to put your love one in facilities like this that is why I feel the staff should be prepared to comfort patients and family."
"To all the parents considering sending your child here please read. As a minor who was sent to this mental hospital under the baker act this place was truly horrid. I did not feel safe here nor did I feel helped. There was little to no professional care. We were deprived of food and basic care. I was kept here longer than the required time and they would not release me. My mom had tried everything legally to get me out, but this place did not care at all. UBC does not care for their patients. While I was only here for a week it was a traumatic experience and do not wish anyones presence at this place due to their lack of care and professionalism, but especially their lack of humanity. If I could rate this 0 stars I would."
