"this place sucks do NOT take your kid here all you will do is make their mental health worse then it already is"
"In my opinion, none of the psychiatry staff at Citrus should ever be allowed to interact with someone mentally unwell. The years I’ve spent using both the medical and psychiatric services here have easily been the worst and most frustrating experiences I have ever had trying to get medical care. I, as, I imagine many others did came to Citrus because of the discounted fees and options for low-income patients. Well, you get what you pay for. Here are some of the experiences I have had that are shared between both departments: -Inability to cancel appointments -Appointments constantly changed last minute -Rude and inattentive staff -Staff either don’t know or don’t care enough to explain the unclear financing programs -Many employees speak only very limited English (I know it’s Miami but it shouldn’t be an uphill battle to explain what’s wrong to a doctor) -Staff more concerned with their personal conversations than helping patients -There is always a massive wait, even when it’s slow -Walk-ins can take hours of waiting despite what the person on the phone assures you -Constant staff changes, both my doctor and psychiatrist were changed several times over the course of a year -Doctors are more focused on prescribing medication than listening and helping Here are some that are specific to the psychiatry department: -Psych ward patients are brought in through the lobby, this can be extremely unsettling to some -Inconsistent counseling options -Therapists constantly canceling, rescheduling, or completely blowing off appointments with no notice or apology, even when verging on a crisis situation -Psychiatrists constantly say they’re prescribing one thing, and then prescribe something else entirely or make no changes. This is likely because they have to run their changes over with their supervisor, who denied them or decided to go in a different direction. The frustration is in not being told and expecting different medications -Extreme callousness in several of the psychiatrists -Baker Act is used very thoughtlessly and can cause severe trauma depending on how well you handle it -Wait times are especially long in the psychiatry department -After years, they still haven’t found a treatment plan that works for me -Psychiatrists almost feel like they’re against you. I decided to be truthful and admit I missed exactly 2 days of medication, now my file says “Noncompliant with medication”. I said I very rarely take edibles to help when my anxiety gets bad, now my file says “Heavy marijuana smoker”. Because your doctors will probably constantly change here, assume that the next person who reads your file will be taking whatever inaccurate things that are in there at face value -Security staff for Baker Act patients is EXTREMELY unprofessional and rude -Restrictions for psych ward patients are inconsistent and confusing -Found a very sharp pencil hidden in the bathroom of the psych ward, leading me to believe an actively suicidal person could very easily find a way to hurt themselves despite the dehumanizing restrictions -Insane writing on the walls of the psych ward, a constant reminder of where you are and that the staff don’t even care enough to clean it -Psych ward has limited to no ability to help with minor medical issues, expect to be pawned off to a local hospital if you need help, likely extending your stay by several days -Most staff, especially the psychiatrists, speak condescendingly to patients -Psychiatrist overstepped their bounds and made somewhat rude and personal comments several times This isn’t close to a complete list of issues, just what I can think of while writing this review. I would highly recommend you avoid Citrus in general, and if you’re looking for psychiatric help, stay as far away as possible."
"I personally thing this hospital is unsafe they dont have a security, a mental health facility must have a security in the facility, there is a lot of people going with mental issue there in case anybody get in a trance is not safe to go for any therapy there"
"These doctors don't care about anything but a paycheck. Basically "take this pill and get the hell out of my office". How sad it is to be rushed or not heard when all u need is a little help and understanding. Thank you Dr. Santana for abolishing the little bit of hope I had left in this place. All of these people are the same. No love, no compassion. You'll be just another nobody in this place."
"Dr garcia is a great doctor. He is good with his patients. He's been my doctor for 6 years and he gives great help."
