"Worst experience of my adult life… I left in tears after I met with Matthew. I just relocated here with my son so he can be closer to his father. Anyone who has moved a long distance knows how stressful and uncomfortable it can be to start completely over in a new area. I have had 2 wonderful doctors for 10+ years. I have been on the same medication for the same period. Finding a new doctor is always a very personal endeavor because you want to feel cared for, understood and God willing, receive accurate care! I received zero from this doctor! Instead I was treated like a drug seeker and was basically told my care from my previous doctors was unacceptable and they were idiots. I brought documentation of all my prescription refills that are refilled once a month. No pain medication, adderall 30 mg extended release! I have been without it for 2 weeks due to my transfer of insurance and finding a doctor. Needless to say, as a professional 46 year old woman and mother, I’m just a junky on one a day adderall! I was in shock, tears and felt like I had to defend myself to this stranger that did not even take the minute to even pull up my labs or records that I provided previously before my appointment! I have never felt so mistreated and judged by a medical health care professional in my life. I did however state that I made it known the first 2 times I talked to the office staff that I was there to find a new PCP in the area and to refill that specific medication, paid CASH $125 to be told to go see a psychiatrist and be rediagnosed. I informed him that I had reached out to psychiatrists first only to be told my first appointment would be $450 because none take my insurance. I said why In the world would I pay to see you if I had not voiced 3 times that I needed a refill if it was never your intention to do so; or if you had a specific protocol regarding that disability!? I would have used that to pay the $450 to a psychiatrist! Please, read reviews and stand up for yourself and your rights as a patient. I hope no one ever has to go through what I did this morning especially during such a stressful life transition. God Bless **oh ya, and I told him my doctor that I have been with for years will send all of my records… he stated well I don’t have them, maybe your doctors real but maybe they aren’t!?? What in all of the world is wrong with him!???? I should post her website!"
"I would highly discourage anyone from going to this medical office. Doctor Matthew specifically was terrible to interact with. He questioned me like I was lying, it didn’t seem like he listened to anything I said, and mansplained the simplest topics. It is always aggravating when a doctor is strong ant and believes they have the upper hand. News flash, it’s my health, doctors should be assisting and helping, not interrogating! The clinic also urine tested me without consent. I have never had a doctor do this. Additionally, they kept every other patients urine samples out on the desk right when you go back (so I placed my sample next to everyone else’s, there was about 10 samples), which I found extremely unsanitary. Everyone’s tribe just sitting out? That can’t be a normal protocol. It felt like these ”professionals” went to school ages ago and haven’t kept up with current medicine or medical studies. Very concerning. Needless to say, I never went back. Oh! And they only take cash. I thought that was odd."
"My husband is in his 70’s and is generally in excellent health and takes no medications. He was seen on short notice same day for a distressing sudden onset medical episode. His evaluation by Dr. Matthew Welsh was thorough and clearly explained. Thank you Dr. Welsh!"
"Absolutely horrible. My pregnant wife came here for a referral, since we needed one for the military. We are new to this and had questions, when we called on her number they would ignore the calls, but picked up right away when we used someone else's phone. My wife left sobbing because Amy at the front was so terribly rude and awful to her. If you have the chance please get your referrals elsewhere and let the workers here live their miserable lives without your interaction. Could not be more disappointed with this being our first experience since becoming active duty."
"The good: I went to Dr. Welch's office for 3 years, once a year, to get my blood test and renew my prescription for levothyroxine. The first 2 years that I went to his office, everything went great. They took credit cards, all of the staff was friendly, the doctor who took my blood was very kind and worked with me since I faint easily. I never had to go back for a second appointment during those first two years, and received my prescription through express scripts very easily. The bad: The 3rd year I came to the office, for the exact same thing I did the prior 2, all of a sudden the office only takes cash and no credit cards, and also doesn't have an atm. Not only that, they would need to see me a 2nd time (for another $20 copay, by the way) just to tell me that my prescription would remain the same. Every other doctor I've had for the past 12 years I've had this condition has been able to do this over the phone, free of charge, but I was told I had to come and see Dr. Welch in person for a 3 minute conversation. Then, express scripts told me that my prescription was not sent correctly and that they needed it sent differently in order to process it. I call the office, and the staff was obviously annoyed and basically told me I could change my pharmacy or express scripts had to figure it out themselves, refusing my requests for them to call express scripts and figure it out between them. I was pretty certain it could have been resolved if they had just a 5 minute conversation with the pharmacy to clear everything up, but I guess their time is too valuable? So I ended up paying double the price for the same prescription from a different pharmacy. No other doctor has ever had these issues with express scripts, but the way that the staff spoke you would have thought that express scripts was blacklisted by all doctors or something. I'm really disappointed with the change in this office. I feel that they have changed to squeeze more money out of patients and to want to spend as little time as possible actually helping them. Hopefully they change for the better, but I will not ever come here again. I've switched to a new doctor that has ZERO of the problems I experienced here, my prescription was being shipped by express scripts within an hour after my appointment!"
