"Truthfully, probably the same experience everywhere you go when it comes to nursing schools. Since their opening they’ve changed Nursing Director/Program Chair to Dr. Arroyo which is probably the best thing they’ve done thus far. Clinical experiences have gotten better, and some locations have gotten closer compared to when the school first opened. Only major problem is lack of professors. Some classes have had a change in professors every semester, sometimes early/mid semester which messed us up because it was all basically self taught or reliant on students who had already taken the course. Full time staff like Dr. Leiper get overloaded and overworked. But she IS HERZING TAMPA! Literally the heart and soul of Herzing, she genuinely cares about her students, their knowledge and teaching to understand, while also teaching to ensure we actually passed! Otherwise, similar experiences everywhere. Come in with a goal, focus and the determination to see it through, despite the negatives and you’ll be fine. Passed my RN Exit and two weeks later passed the NCLEX. I’m already re-enrolled to get my BSN since I’m literally only two semesters away. Thankfully that part is all online now."
"Candidly, I would give this school a one star if I had to rate it at the beginning of the program. It was chaotic, unorganized, and extremely stressful going to class and clinicals. Once the chair of nursing Dr. Arroyo was hired, everything seemingly got better. It felt like we finally had answers to our questions and had a direction to go. She cares about the students and the program. She wanted us to genuinely succeed and grow as nurses. I just graduated in August and passed my NCLEX with 85 questions! I undoubtedly can say I wouldn’t have been able to do that without her because she pushed me and she believed in me. I hope the program continues to grow. I believe Dr. Arroyo will continue helping her students and I guarantee she will help you succeed."
"This school is easy to get in, but please don't let that statement fool you, their program is hard but doable. I was able to complete the program working full-time and pregnant. If I can do it, you can do it as well. The best part about this school is the professors. They have Dr. Leiper she is the best professor ever, she will explain the subject/topic explicitly, she is very knowledgeable, respectful and approachable. Her sense of humor is therapeutic and will get you through nursing school. Also, Professor Patton is amazing, she loves teaching. I had her for OB/peds, she is amazing (I said it twice). She is very knowledgeable, full of energy, she explains the content clearly. My recommendation is don't be late to her class, participate, complete her assignments and ask questions. If she repeats a statement during the lecture, it means it's important, believe me if I tell you OB/peds was my worst course before I met Professor Patton. They also have professor Underwood, she is incredible, if you're a fun of memory tricks, you will succeed in her class. I know the reason you're reading this review is because you're searching for a university that fits you. Yes, I strongly recommend Herzing. The program is hard (that is nursing school). However, you will have support from all the different walks of Herzing, Rosie, Kylie, Janice financial aid and the Dean. The dean is very approachable, if you're struggling don't be afraid to talk to him. He might not have all the answers but he will point you to the right direction."
"Despite the many set backs this institution has had since being opened the faculty and staff has done their very best to ensure that students are meeting their educational needs. Tampa’s Financial Aid officer Janice is the most wonderful person I have met at this institution. She has been there since the school opened and has been an advocate for students beyond financial aid. The Chair of Nursing Dr. Arroyo is very passionate about seeing students be successful and be the best version of themselves. She has been doing a wonderful Job as the Chair of Nursing at Herzing- Tampa. She is very knowledgeable, relatable and embodies the goals of the institution she is an asset. I hope that this university will continue to grow and become one that is reliable in the future."
"One of the best things about this institution is Dr. Elizabeth Arroyo, the Nursing Program Chair. She has been a welcomed and much needed addition to the university. Since her arrival she has made it her mission to improve the program for both faculty and students alike. Nursing school will test your persistence, endurance and sanity at times. To have a knowledgeable educator, mentor and advocate like Dr. Arroyo has been invaluable."
