"If I could give less than a star, I would. This was the most horrible I have ever experienced about healthcare. I am a Registered Nurse myself, Manager of a hospital floor. I cannot believe that a children’s Hospital treated us like that. They were so careless from the beginning, all nurses were careless, they didn’t explain anything, I had to keep asking what each procedure was because they wouldn’t explain, assuming I knew, besides that I never told them I am a nurse. Two residents came to see him, both with different stories and opinions, we didn’t know what to do. My baby is 11 months old and we brought him for wheezing, due to a diagnosis of RSV and FLU. They acted like they didn’t care all the time. Lastly, after 8 hours there, a doctor came to say she wanted an xray, after the residents had said my baby was discharged home. They did the xray, and after a few minutes, a third nurse came to say you can go home, without having results of xray. I asked for results, then one of the residents came to tell me that xray was normal, however they ordered antibiotics in case it was pneumonia. They didn’t even know what to say, but discharge papers says pneumonia. This was the most horrible care a child can get, they were rude, came and baby sleeping they wouldn’t care and would wake him up in a very inhuman way. The nurses out in the nurse’s station was laughing and making a lot of noise without caring parents and children there that are sick need some relax environment. They don’t have respect for people, humanity or compassion at all. They threw the discharge papers at the counter and we left without nobody giving us any discharge instructions. Don’t ever go to this hospital. I will escalate this as much as I can, to advocate for my baby and all the children that come to this horrible place they call a “children’s hospital “"
"If you are the parent of a Black child, stay away at all costs from this place. Yesterday, my child had an appointment with Dr. Milla for the first time for an annual follow-up. She sent us a resident to conduct the examination. She did not even spend 1 minute with us, no blood work nothing. Although, my kid was clearly showing signs of asthma symptoms. Dr. Milla dismissed all that and decided my kid needed another kind of follow-up. What has been happening to us over the past few hours is one of the cruelest experiences for a Black family to experience in Florida."
"At 2:20 PM on February 1, 2024, I reached out to the Orthopedic Department to schedule an appointment. Throughout my interaction with the front office staff, there was a noticeable display of impatience and an unfriendly tone. Despite my slight confusion about where to seek assistance for my condition, the staff abruptly hung up on me during our conversation, failing to offer any guidance or assistance. While I understand they may be handling numerous calls and encountering challenges, my previous experiences with hospital staff have generally been positive until this incident. This serves as a cautionary note for others to be mindful and consider avoiding the Orthopedic Department of this hospital."
"So far a disappointing experience trying to schedule an appointment for my son. Despite being overly appreciative, the staff have been rude and dismissive. I tried to escalate to a manager and I was hung up on. Called back.. put on hold for 25 minutes when asked to speak to a manager again only to be told there is not a manager available. They should not have people answering phones/scheduling that don't want to help people. This is a children's hospital for goodness sake. It should not be this hard."
