UMHC Sylvester outpatient

UMHC Sylvester outpatient is South Florida's only Cancer Center of Excellence, located at 1475 Northwest 12th Avenue in Miami, Florida. The institution is part of the University of Miami Health System and offers comprehensive cancer services to the community. With a 40-bed inpatient hospital, UMHC – University of Miami Hospital & Clinics, Sylvester serves as the central hub for cancer diagnosis, treatment, and research within UHealth – University of Miami Health System.

The outpatient facility at Sylvester in Miami includes various clinics, a comprehensive treatment unit, a radiation oncology suite, the Mohs surgery center/dermatology clinic, the Rosenfield GI Center, a stem cell transplant clinic, a cardiology lab and clinic, a radiology/imaging suite, an interventional radiology clinic, the Spine Institute clinics, on-site laboratory and pharmacy, the Courtelis Center for Psychosocial Oncology, the Jill Selevan Chapel, and a cafeteria, as well as administrative offices. There is also a pediatric oncology clinic, alex’s place, for young patients.

Sylvester organizes its cancer research and treatment into 15 specialized “site-disease groups” consisting of multidisciplinary healthcare professionals who specialize in specific types of cancer. These groups cover a wide range of cancers, from common types like breast and lung cancer to rarer forms such as pediatric and thyroid cancer. The teams include medical oncologists, surgeons, and radiation oncologists, working together to provide personalized care and innovative treatments for each patient.
