"My husband, age 76, was recently diagnosed with diabetes. With virtually no personal experience with the disease, we learned of the Gulf Cares program at the hospital, and connected with Lori Swindell, RN,BSN, Diabetes Educator, with the program. Lori has been an absolute godsend to both my husband, and me. She is very knowledgeable and extremely well-versed in the field. In addition, she is a marvelous teacher, personable and pleasant. Surprisingly, the program is offered free by the hospital and provides management of several diagnoses. We feel very lucky to have become aware of the program, and even more fortunate to have worked with Lori. She provided essential information and guidance to get my husband on a successful pathway to managing his disease. Our heartfelt thanks to her, and Ascension Gulf for making this program available."
