"You may go for a drink or the game, but you are doing yourself a disservice if you don't have a meal! My husband and I are "discerning" New Yorkers and good food is important to us. This meal was easily the best we've had in the 8 years we've been eating in downtown Fort Myers. Needless to say, we will be back...and next time we will save room for dessert!"
"I don't think I've ever tried an entrée where so much effort was put into cooking these braised short ribs. The beef was incredibly tender, even someone with dentures could comfortably savor this last-meal-quality dish. In my opinion, this is the true definition of getting what you pay for. Thank you to everyone involved in making this entrée happen"
"Lucky Screw has a good mojo that matches the vibe of Ft. Myers well. Been here a couple times. Staff is always friendly and quick with a drink. Domestic drafts are $3 on happy hour, so it’s definitely a go-to spot for a drink. Food is always tasty too. Great place to watch the game, and they’ll find a tv for you to put on a game you want."
"This place is a great sports bar, with a theater-sized main TV screen. The bartender could be a bit friendlier. The all day happy hours drink specials are good. It has 2 levels, both with TVs and a view of that large screen."
"During a recent stay at the Luminary, we decided to walk over and have dinner at The Lucky Screw based on the menu and some of the reviews. For some reason, my teen thought this place would be fancy - I laughed and said with their name, I figured it'd be a bar. But it's not what I would consider bar food - it's definitely nicer than that. We got there for happy hour on a Monday, and it was pretty empty. We had our pick of seats and had great service. There was live music somewhere - we sat in the front part and didn't really walk around, so I have no idea where the guy was. He sure liked to test the mic a lot - my kid started counting the number of times he'd say, "testing 1, 2" - even after he had already started singing songs. This was quite amusing to my kid for some reason! Here is what we ordered and thought of each dish: > Scampi dip - this was pretty good but SO rich. It comes with pita triangles, crostini and celery. There are some diced tomatoes on top, but you can't even taste them. My son works in a restaurant, and we're foodie geeks, so we were talking about how it needed more acid like maybe capers or pickled onions. The tomatoes are an acid, but they were so lost in this dish and doing nothing, so maybe just more tomatoes. Or diced red onions. I don't know, but something to balance that yummy richness that is almost too much after a few bites. I'd recommend getting this if you have maybe four or more people, so each person isn't getting too much which is what happened to us, I think. > Loaded tots - these were pretty good. We'd order these again. Nice crunch on the tots. Ask for a side of Ranch dressing, tho. It has a Ranch "drizzle", but if you like Ranch (like my kiddo!), get more. > Buffalo Chicken flatbread - my son ordered this and really liked it. I didn't try it as I am not into Buffalo. He did say it wasn't that hot and could have used a bit more heat. > Brazilian Picanha - this is what I ordered as I love Picanha and cook it at home all the time. I asked for it rare, and it came medium rare and almost even medium in parts. I hate sending food back, but I also am not a fan of overcooked meat. My second dish was cooked perfectly, but both pieces of meat were a little tough to cut. I got it with the house veg which was a broccoli and maybe pepper mix and was good. Instead of mashed potatoes, I got fries, and they were also good. I'm not sure I'd order this again, but that's partly because I like how I cook it at home better (sorry, guys! Hard to beat smoking meat on a Traeger, lol). So, overall, we liked the Lucky Screw and would eat here again and try some of the other dishes. I wish I could give them more like a 4.25. I think this place could be a lot of fun on a weekend night, too! Definitely give them a try!"
