Bocelli Modern Italian

"As you know, We are a Grain-Free Sugar-Free and Gluten-Free, eating family. So it can be very difficult to find a place where you can eat that doesn't mind catering to your special needs. Unfortunately, Bocelli's did not provide good substitute items for us. We both ordered the brisket burger, no bread, and no fries. There is an upcharge to get another side item. I got the broccolini, and my husband the side salad. Keep in mind no bread, tomatoes, or cheese (they added anyway). When the bill came, we were floored to have spent $74.72 + tip on 2 pieces of burger patties (which did not reflect anything that remotely tasted like brisket). Our waitress Valerie, barely introduced herself and seemed to be quite bothered with our requests for our special diet. By the way, this restaurant states, "Modern Italian" but there was nothing Modern about it. It was loud, noisy and felt like we were at a Chain Restaurant like Outback or Chili's (no offense as I love those places), just not as advertised. Thanks, but not returning!"

"This place was very underwhelming. I hold off writing a review for this place because I was disappointed on the food. The service is amazing and very friendly. She was super nice and brought us everything we needed quickly. The atmosphere is very romantic and cozy. I love the outside area especially during Florida fall time. But the food was just not it. The appetizers we ordered tasted good and was expecting a lot more with the entree. But the lasagna I ordered was DRY. I was expecting a lot more sauce, but it was really dry and the burnt. The pizza was also very dry. The cheese wasn’t melted because it texture was very sandy, but the BBQ sauce was good. And the pasta was average, there wasn’t much “wow” factor. Overall, amazing place to come and hang out but average food."

"Had a great experience here! The server recommended a new wine, and I ended up loving it. I ordered the eggplant parm with a side of the bucatini and was loving it. My friend got the short rib lasagna and it was not at all what we were expecting, but tasted amazing. We started with the bruschetta and it was the best I’d had in a long time. Overall a great vibe there, and loving driving down bayshore boulevard to get there. Will be returning soon."

"Last weekend was my 1st time at Bocelli's and I have to say that I was not impressed. We didn't realize that they had live music every Friday and Saturday night so when we were seated we recognized right away that there was no way we were going to be able to talk as music was very loud. We asked to be seated outside instead. Hostess allowed us and we sat at one of the plastic tables not far from where other patrons were allowed to smoke cigarettes. Obviously, we could smell it the entire dinner as Bocelli's patio area is quite small. No server ever asked the smokers to stop. The food was mediocre, however, the drinks were very good. Service by Valerie was decent, however, all waitresses were wearing different style of clothes so it didn't look professional. My friend ordered Eggplant Parmesan and she said it was pretty good except for the pasta which was overcooked. Another friend of mine opted in for Octopus with potatoes as well as garlic butter asparagus. She said her food was okay, but definitely not wow. I had gnocchi with tomatoes in an Alfredo sauce which were tasty. Valerie did not ask if we wanted another round of drinks, nor did she offer to check out their dessert menu so we just paid the bill. Another thing that was quite disappointing is their parking. Lines are washed out and because of it people park their cars on top of lines which makes it difficult for another car to park in between if two cars are not in their exact parking spots. I do not think I would be coming back as this 3 - star rated restaurant did not wow us one bit."

"Food was outstanding. Service was great. The atmosphere was vibrant. The fried risotto was the perfectly cheesy with a crunchy texture. The sausage on the pizza was not familiar but was delicious. I’m guessing it was an in house recipe? Which is 100% worth the try! I will be back."
