"This summer/aftercare program is joke. They are way too over priced and charge you $10 per child to participate in Pizza party. The warden Ms. Dee Dee, should not be working in a people oriented environment — she does not have the personality for it. Several times my child has came home stating how mean she is to the kids. She’s rude to the parents, has a dry personality and has a stank face every time I see her. My son has a 504 plan in place, which means they are required to accommodate his needs and disciplinary actions should not be equivalent to a child without a 504 plan. My son received a write up twice and on the second notice he was terminated from the program. You’re better off taking your child(ren) to Roberts or Fossil Recreational park — way cheaper and the staff is always friendly."

"I've been in this school for 6 years and this is my last year here. I love the school! And I highly reccomend it to anyone. The best teacher is the music teach Mr. Pipkin. He is funny and nice. I hope you send your child to this school. They will have a great time!"

"Public schools get a lot of bad press these days, but Sawgrass Lake Elementary is a true gem. My son is very bright, but is socially behind his peers, and we've tried several schools (highly rated private and magnet), hoping to find the best fit for him. Happily, it ended up being our neighborhood public school. The teachers are so patient and knowledgeable. They provide classrooms that are academically challenging, while setting appropriate behavior standards. The way they work off one another's strengths to create a well-rounded learning environment is truly commendable. The office staff is the best! They've gone above and beyond expectations to make sure that my son is cared for. And they are always welcoming and friendly. The schools behavior specialist is amazing! She clearly loves her students and takes pride in her work. I know that my son is in good hands. We are so lucky to have such a fine institution in our community!"

"Excellent, overall this school is great and my child has learned and excelled so much. They have an excellent gifted program. Great staff and wonderful teachers. Communication could be just a tad bit better but they are working in it. This is my childs fourth year there and I've only had one incident with the school that was immediately taken care of. As far as references to the gun ranges, I think people should educate themselves before they get all worked up about it. I am no "gun fanatic" as I believe that's how it was referred to, I don't even own one, but I took the time to educate myself and found out that it's not a gun range at all, it's a trap and skeet shooting club (there's a big deference). The shots are packed for short fire/close range and there is no danger of anyone getting hurt at the school. Stop being ridiculous. There's a park on the other side of the trap and skeet club with a outlook tower facing where the shooting is going on....there is absolutely NO DANGER to the people at that lookout tower at Sawgrass Lake Park, so there is certainly NO DANGER to the children, staff and parents at the school that are even further away. I felt that I needed to address this because I didn't want anyone getting a bad impression of the school due to one uneducated person's comment. As I stated before, this truly is a great school."
