"I am writing this review a month later but I am happy to write this. I placed an order for catering with bistro south for my daughter’s first birthday since we were celebrating at such a close location. Unfortunately, the day of her birthday we had cancel due to an emergency and could NOT drive out to Monroe to pick up the order. Since the order was already made, of course we were not going to leave all that food for them to waste so we still went ahead with our purchase and had intentions of picking it up the next day.. (hoping they could freeze it for us) I do believe Monroe is 40 minutes from where we are located and couldn’t afford the time of the drive that day. It’s completely out of the way. I really wish I could remember who I spoke to on the phone… I think it was the owner or manager himself. Anyways, he offered to drive our food out to our home address so we can enjoy! And he did. He made it happen. Such an act of kindness really did make a huge impact on our circumstances we were dealing with at the time. And we were able to enjoy a delicious dinner.. no stress. I would recommend bistro south to anyone and everyone. Not only is the food delicious, but the employees are fabulous and have heart of gold. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you again for helping us out."

"It’s good food…if you can get it. They are CONSTANTLY out of food. “I’d like the meatloaf.” “Sorry, we’re out.” “I’d like two sides of mac & cheese.” “We only have enough for one.” It’s every single time you go, and it’s half the menu. They are always out of something. When at least half of your party can’t get the food they want, it’s frustrating. And it’s not like we’re going at a weird time. It’s 12:30 on a Sunday afternoon. You’re in a grocery store!!! Go buy more food and cook it!"

"The lunch was delicious we had a tony burger. The bread seemed off like it was crumbly when it shouldn’t be but the burger was good. The loaded potato salad was good as well as the Mac and cheese. We went back again but for breakfast and I don’t recommend the breakfast. It was tortuous to eat. Extremely dry and flavorless the coffee was horrible. Stick with the lunch menu and you’ll be good"

"We just moved to Bethlehem and decided to drive to Monroe to explore. We stumbled across John's Supermarket in which Bistro South is located in the grocery store. The food is made fresh to order. We ordered our meals togo. The cashier was friendly. The food was delicious!! I ordered the Peppercorn Steakhouse Burger with pimento cheese fries. It was sooo delicious! Definitely will be coming back to try other menu items!"
