Stew’s Barbershop 1007 North Main Street, LaFayette, GA 30728

"I came here today for a spontaneous, but gradually overdue haircut since I was driving around anyway. It's a really nice place run by a really cool guy with seemingly really cool friends (at least, based on the other people I met while inside). I want to preface by saying, and this is by no means negative, be prepared for a very domestic and homey-style barbershop when you walk in. It's basically a super cool, very large living room, with a barber's chair and station in the corner. It's got some really cool decorations and it's not cluttered. In fact, it gives you something fun to skim over while he works. He had his daughter there today who was adorable (and a little hyper) and definitely sweetened up the space. WARNING TO THOSE WITH ALLERGIES, he does have an awesome Siamese cat, and their hair is long enough that it may cause issues for some people. It doesn't really mingle with anyone but it does wander the space - just fair warning. If you are sitting waiting his daughter may come over and show her amazing counting skills, which is a treat. Stew is a very mellow and kind guy and fun to talk to. He takes quite a bit of interest in his clients and has many interesting things to share himself. He's very quick and was able to nail down exactly what I was looking for so don't be nervous if you're looking for a style that's a little alternative (maybe bring a picture). He accepts many forms of payment (I don't think card) and make sure you leave him a good tip because he deserves it. I will definitely be back the next time I need a good shearing."
