"My mom and I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon and the lady behind the bar pleasantly welcomed us in. My mom doesn’t drink craft beers so the allowed her to sample a few of the beers and we found the one she liked (the Hefeweizen). We went out back where the atmosphere was very lively. "Stopped in on our way down St. George Island. I'd not been through Thomasville in, literally, decades - not since my wife was in school at FSU. They've done a great job "revitalizing" the downtown area and Tvelo Brewing is an added attraction. A small brewery located in an older building just off the square among a row of small craft eateries, gift shops, and more, it has just the right vibe. We hit it about 12:30 or so and the place was already getting filled up with other "travelers" (including one young woman whose uncle, it turns out, went to High School with my wife, though two years or so behind her, in Sarasota, Florida). We wound up having our usual two flights, and was quite impressed. I confess I've started judging craft breweries by their lagers as it seems everyone gets an IPA or Stout "right", but not so many take the time to really get a lager or pilsner right (which for me means more traditional in line with German or Czech beers). Their Rose City Lager gets it right (and their The Pearl Hazy IPA and Imperial Stout are both quite good). For those in the area for whatever reason, Thomasville is a worthy stop and Tvelo should be on your list to try."
