"Absolutely the worse experience I’ve ever had in terms of service. For starters they insist you do everything online, for scheduling and such. I schedule the needed appointment, then 2 days before the appointment they call to reschedule. The rescheduled appointment time was 20min earlier than the original. Fair enough. We show up, do the paperwork to find out everything thing is done via teledoc and that you don’t actually see the doc in person, at an additional $50 cost, not covered by insurance. Then after we finish signing consents and such, we’re told there was yet another scheduling conflict and they’d need to reschedule again."
"Previously, I had good a experience. But last month I had an appointment with the doctor and one for a field test Since it was storming and a flood alert was going on, I contacted them to make sure I should come. The man I spoke with said yes, come in for my appointment. When I got there, the person checking me in said the field test machine was down, but I would still see the doctor. She checks me in and then goes in the back and finds out the doctor isn't there. (Mind you, I'm in a wheelchair due to an injury. ) So for today's appointment, last Thursday, they confirmed it, but this morning I called to make sure the field test machine is working so we wouldn't waste time and gas. There was no way to get through to them for 25 minutes. I left an urgent message to contact me. So, I called them while traveling there and we make it to the corner where they're located while I'm waiting on hold (hadn't turned into parking lot) we're still in the car and they finally say the machine is down and I won't be able to see the doctor also. They said they will need to refer me out. I've been legally blind before, and they have little regard for me as a patient. Someone should have contacted me before the appointment. Why call to confirm my appointment if the machine is down. I'm VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THEIR OFFICE."
"Tim was just short of being rude when he checked me in today. He didn’t smile, ask/take my insurance or let me know that my in person appointment would switch to a virtual one midway through. Thankfully everyone else was pleasant and helpful."
"I’ve been to this location four times now and the issues keep piling up. I don’t think I’ll be going back. Every time I order contacts from them, it takes over a month for them to be delivered. Once, I asked if they had any samples, which they said they would happily give me in the over two month wait for my contacts, but they never followed through. I’m currently waiting for an order that I placed 12 days ago, that I don’t expect to get anytime soon. They don’t even give you a tracking number for your order, so I’m just left in the dark about my $200 order. The last time, which really was the final straw, my partner and I went to pick out some frames. The lady at the front desk told us to pick out a pair and find a seat at a desk. We picked out a pair and sat at a desk and the staff ignored us for nearly an hour. Turns out, we sat at the wrong desk? We had to sit at a desk with a computer instead of the desks at the back. No one said anything to us and the lady that gave us the directions watched us waiting there and never said anything. I think, if someone is sitting in the wrong spot with a new pair of frames in hand that you watched them select, you should realize that there’s been a mistake and they’re in the wrong spot. In the end, the employees made us feel like we were stupid for not knowing, despite not being told which type of desk to sit at. It took us almost two hours to purchase overpriced frames. We’ve given this business too many chances, honestly."
"Made an appointment, after being stuck there for over 90 minutes, most of which was waiting on a virtual doctor, I tried to check out and they refused to let me leave for 15 minutes where I waited with card in hand. Explained this was a new policy if you refused to buy glasses that the optician had to get her manager. I could hear them conferencing about me in another room. After waiting for two women to talk about me in another room the manager then came over and asked if I was giving up my benefits. I said no, I will use them elsewhere as is my right by law. She repeatedly said I was giving up my benefits and "splitting them" as if that's a bad thing when it really means nothing at all and DOES NOT NEGATIVELY AFFECT YOU I mentioned I worked for the Board of Optometry and that's what finally made them let me leave. I had to say I need to leave and was late to other appointments five times before I was allowed to pay and leave. I felt detained and highly uncomfortable. I considered walking out and waiting for a bill in the mail as most doctors do. However when I checked in, they said my insurance fully covered (she used the word "fully") my services other than a $15 copay and $39 retinal imaging fee. Upon check out they said my insurance didn't cover the type of contacts I picked (I didn't buy contacts, just had an exam) and charged me an extra $125. This business is skirting laws. Even in the exam room, they project the screen they're working on so I saw 7 other patients' records, even one whose name they kept calling me by (Elizabeth if you're out there they showed me your detailed file by accident). They also discussed a woman's cataracts in the lobby loudly. Patients - you have the right to your prescription, "splitting" your benefits means nothing, you DO NOT have to use your benefits at the same place OR same day, and you have the right for an upfront estimate. If they tell you otherwise, contact the Florida Board of Optometry and/or Opticianry or consumer affairs and report them. Side note Jashon was apologetic for the ridiculous wait and Rosie repeatedly apologized to me for not allowing me to pay and leave. She was clearly very uncomfortable too. My only complaint was that nothing was wiped down prior to me using it, it may have been after. ETA: I just pulled out my trials they provided and they EXPIRED IN 2021! WOW"
