"Dr. Robinson is handy if you just need to vent, but I would not recommend him for marital counseling or for support in managing major life crises. Being in the mental health field myself, I recognize that Dr. Robinson missed important cues essential to restructuring the way individuals and couples view and understand their circumstances. He didn't apply any techniques that I could reflect on, and at times, he seemed to forget that his position was to remain neutral! Several sessions later, I have no takeaways to combat the stinkin' thinking. Before I was fully aware of his lack of effectiveness as a therapist, I recommended Dr. Robinson to 2 other families, and both complained about how ineffective his techniques were and how their family issues remained unresolved before finally giving up and seeking guidance elsewhere. Today, we are all in a healthier place and pleased with our respective mental health providers! Dr. Robinson is a nice man, an educated man, but seek counseling elsewhere if you want to be a revisionist in your life and want tools to use to manage your challenges long-term."
