"I have been going here for several years. The last 2-3 years have simply been horrible. Last year, I asked my contact lenses be picked up at the office, they shipped them to an old address, tried to still charge me, refused to replace them for weeks, etc. This year, they didn’t order the correct trial lenses we had discussed in my appointment, I had to make two different trips to South Charleston to get the correct ones, so I was already frustrated. They have become more and more expensive each year, so this year I decided to purchase my contacts online. They decline the order when ContactsDirect sent it to them because of a mistake they made in my name on the prescription. They are not friendly at all when you are there or when you call. They take forever to get back to you. I will be switching doctors immediately."
"I have been going here for years but the last couple years something is off. The staff is not friendly anymore. They are extremely expensive too. I hate to change optometrist but I think I'm going to have too. The last few times I've called, they are rude and not helpful."
"I tried Advanced EyeCare because it was on my vision plan and I could get an exam for $10 and a good discount on frames. First thing they tried to give me an additional service for more $. The doctor was nice but the prescription she gave me was not right (I can’t read the computer with the bifocals). When it came time to choose a new frame I couldn’t find any I liked. They were all old styles and looked basically the same so I wanted to use my old frames. They suddenly became not so nice and wouldn’t work with me. Overall I thought they were shady."
"Great doctors. Great receptionists, for the most part. Sharon has a poor attitude and left a sour taste in my mouth on more than one occasion. I made a quick stop at the sunglass show they had, I wanted to ask a question, and was told to basically wait my tuen for the three of them to tend to the over 10 folks in the eyeglass section. I would suggest not hosting a sunglass show if you are not properly staffed to host it. No one wants to go in and wait 30 mins or more just to have a question answered. Not to mention they ordered replacement lenses for my eyeglasses due to my brand new lenses getting so easily scratched. They ordered the wrong formula, so now I must wait another 14 days. When I came in to pick up my lenses, Sharon basically told me I needed a backup pair of eyeglasses. I have had prescription glasses since I was 6 years old. I have never been in a situation where I needed a backup pair. I will not return to this place once I get my prescription replacement lenses. I am betting I am not the only person Sharon and the lack of staff has turned off. Those two things completely cancelled out the excellent doctors and receptionists."
"Edit 2: Now they’re sending me bills even after I sent a check already. And they left me a three minute long voicemail telling me how this review was wrong instead of just apologizing and asking how they could do better. I’m an easy customer to please, just look at most of my reviews. This is getting ridiculous :( Edit: They also don’t offer online payment for the random bill they sent me. Great. It’s an OK place strictly by the sense of the word. It was clean and fine. Staff was friendly enough. Doctor messed up my eye script so bad I left with contacts that, once I went home and put them in, couldn’t see out of. Pricing isn’t really an issue but I did get a random bill in the mail for something over two months ago I was told I didn’t owe anything for at the appointment (which was messed up - they clearly didn’t have me down correctly and didn’t even know what my follow up appointment was for). I thought I had paid everything up front. Then they scheduled an appointment without my knowledge or consent to a 3rd party retina consultant place on a day I worked and asked me to change the appointment if it didn’t work (it was a bad date and time because… they never asked my availability). I’ve had bad eyes my whole life and while this place technically got me out with the correct script after 3 visits, I think next time I might just go to VisionWorks or Walmart, the service would be about the same. They still require masks, which I find admirable and won’t dock points for that (they can run their private business how they like). Not terrible, but not five stars either."
