Reviews
"An awesome place to see a play. Great actors and staff. Very cool venue outside."
"It’s quirky, charming and unique theater experience. The cast is completely volunteer with a mix of experienced and novice actors. The singing is great. The shows are on par or better than most school or community theater productions. The live orchestra is outstanding and fairly unique for a community theater. It’s completely outdoors, and weather can be fickle so consider bringing a rain jacket or umbrella. There’s tiered seating leveled but no built-in seats. Instead you sit on the foldable camping chairs you bring yourself. For good seating show up around 5-5:30 to stand in line to wait for the ticket booth to open at 6:00 (there’s no online ticket sales), place your chair, then go have dinner at a local restaurant and return for the show opening at 8:00. There’s no official parking so scope out the surrounding tennis court or library parking lots for a spot then follow the paved paths to the theater."
"Hidden gem! Great family fun"
"The best performance you’ll ever experience in the woods! We saw Matilda here and I’d 100% recommend seeing a show at the Signal Mountain Playhouse. It’s an experience like none other. Tips: Get there at 5 for tickets (tickets go on sale at 6–there will be a line), bring your camp chairs to set up once you get tickets. Come back to see the show at 8. Feel free to bring your own snacks, but they have concessions during intermission. Wear bug spray and bring a flash light. Plan to park at the library or near the tennis courts and walk over. There’s only handicap parking at the playhouse. Enjoy!"
"This is a wonderful outdoor Amphitheater. Our family went to see Shrek the musical and it was awe inspiring. The car ride up the side of the mountain is very nerve racking but it is worth it. Just make sure to bring comfy chairs."
