"My husband and I went to marriage counseling for several sessions with Dr. Akinyela. Unbeknownst to me, during his individual sessions with my husband, he would say negative things about me and tell my husband that I was crazy. During our sessions together, he would side with my husband. I decided that he wasn’t a good fit for us during our last session when he said that I had a lot of issues but didn't acknowledge the issues that my husband had. The whole point of marriage counseling is to help both parties work through their issues. Not only was he not helpful, he was very biased and it was almost as if he wanted us to divorce. My husband and I are still together which is no credit to him. I am just thankful that we stopped seeing him before he pushed us to divorce. My husband truly feels that if we had continued to go to him that we would have divorced because he was only causing more tension in our relationship and planting negative seeds in our marriage. He even feels that Dr. A did not work to resolve both of our issues in the marriage. If you want to keep your marriage, my advice is to steer clear of counseling with Dr. Akinyela."
